EAM 9 is using "just" 6.927.221 signatures now, is it normal? I remember that some time ago it was more than 11.000.000

    And what about these detections?

I am still using SSM, and I have always stopped the outbound connection of SSMDownloader, exe, because it was no longer required.

However, after the install of EIS, I no longer had the control of the outbound connection, and EIS automatically was connecting to the SSM server. This server is for a program that is no longer being developed.

So, the other day I played around in the EIS FW settings, and came up with the following for SSM:

    ScreenShot_EIS_Application_rules_01.gif

Today, after rebooting into this snapshot, I saw that the the change to the FW rule for SSMDownloader.exe was effective, as I got the the alert to this attempt at an outbound connection:

    ScreenShot_EIS_Application_rules_02.gif ScreenShot_EIS_Application_rules_05.gif

Does the new firewall have a network connections view?

The signatures are optimised and cleaned up from time to time with duplicate detections removed from the Emsisoft engine since Bitdefender already recognises the same malware families. It is also a way of ensuring memory footprints remain as low as possible.

Edit: Fabian answers a similar question to yours in this post: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/emsisoft-anti-malware-9-released.365088/page-8#post-2399018

@Fabian I have been testing out Emsisoft Internet Security and the firewall module doesn't seem to work correctly - it keeps on crashing randomly with Viscocity (Aus) VPN software - if you have the VPN software start at start up and connect automatic. Maybe check it out. :)

You don't want to install this botched update. Windows action center doesn't report Emsisoft correctly and I have had several hard resets. One more hard reset and it's gone.

edit: I am using Emsisoft Internet Security.

Are you using Emsisoft Internet Security? I am using EIS which I didn't note properly in my previous post.

This is only cosmetics and will be fixed.
    Emsi still protects your PC.

    What's a hard reset?

The hard reset while using Emsisoft Internet Security is not a cosmetic issue.

Minor bug with EIS v4519. When it updates (mine is set for hourly) when you put your cursor over the tray icon it does not show the update until you open the program. Then the cursor over the tray icon shows latest update. Using Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64.

I assume by hard reset you are referring to a sudden system restart? If so, can you please check if there are any minidumps being written by Windows (C:\Windows\Minidump).

When Firewall rules are set to ask, it take about 15 to 20 seconds for a pop-up window to ask. This is a big reason I dislike EIS. Other then this I like!
    Windows 7 x64.

    I'm referring to this. -> http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/15775-eureka-log-crash-report-after-updating-to-4519/

I initially reported on the Eureka crash log and then the freezing occurred so I added it to the topic. I posted this yesterday at your forum and each topic around my topic was responded to by an Emsisoft employee. Why wasn't mine? S2K8008 also had some information regarding this same problem.

I have re-imaged so no dumps.

Another topic at your forum - http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/15774-problems-since-update-to-4519/

Fabian, I have had several sudden system restarts while running EIS, both the beta and now the released version but hadn't realised that it might be connected to EIS.
I do have a series of Windows\Minidumps if you want them. Just need to know where to send them as I am unable to open them myself.
