I believe when the non-enterprise preview of W10 is available I'll try it so I have a dual boot?

My current system is x64 W7 SP1. If I would install W10 on its own 60gb SSD, since I already have W7 installed, can I merely then install Easy BCD to conveniently dual boot? Thank You!

    ratchet,

I don't multiboot that way but make sure you remove the x64 W7 SP1 drive from your computer before installing Win10 to the SSD. If you don't then the Win10 booting files will be installed into the Win7 partition.

That would be easy for me to do as, I built this machine but I thought one issue is that older systems need to be installed first. Would this not mimic just the opposite? Thank you!

    ratchet,

Installing the oldest operating system first is for Microsoft multi-boots where all booting files are installed into the original OS partition. So all OS are dependent on the original OS. If it fails for whatever reason, the others don't boot.

See "What's Wrong with the Microsoft Way?"

    http://www.goodells.net/multiboot/principles.shtml

I much prefer to have independent OS. They can be installed in any order. The most recent first, second, last, etc. None of the OS see the others so there is no cross talk such as deleting each others restore points.

I use BIBM as a boot manager but XOSL is a good free one, although harder to setup than BIBM.
