A lot of FP for Panda and bad results for Avast and Lavasoft.

    Thanks

Nice performance by Trend Micro :)

Wonder what is the user dependent part in Trend Micro?

Finally, a test which shows Kaspersky do not have 100%. A bit more realistic. But Avira at 100%, that is new.

Avira's answer to those who decided not to recommend Avira anymore lately...

I am on the test team for Trend. I alerted people several months ago on various blogs and forums that Trend would begin scoring extremely high. With their 2015 product just coming out it contains significant advances that will push it's score even higher. One of the advances is a method to 'scale' protection based on outbreaks, and the activity you are partaking in. Also Trend is leveraging some backend technologies that will make significant advances in my opinion. Based on this test result, it appears to be the case.

2015 also has an extremely nice interface.

I have used Trend recently. My suggestions are:
    1. Improve your support. The support forums rarely have Trend employees participating.
    2. Improve the usability of the product. It's hard to tell if the virus signatures are up-to-date. Your online support should also show the current virus signature so users know if they are up-to-date.
    3. Make the program easier to install/reinstall. Users shouldn't have to remove all other anti-malware programs to install Trend.

Make these changes and Trend will have a lot more customers.

I am using Trend Internet Security, and it is very good. Is the 2015 version in beta, or is it out? I think I still have 2014 version.

    What's going on with Avast?

Oh to hell with Avira. >=V

Panda did gave me 2 FPs in the span of 2 days usage when I tested it lately, so I would agree with the result. And it seems that the user-dependent rate for Emsisoft has been consistently decreasing, which is good because it won't nag the users too much. Has the BB become smarter?

On a side note, those protection numbers won't matter long because they are destroying Avira by adding a bunch of useless crap and taking away the custom install so you don't even have the option not to use it! What's next, an ugly metro GUI?

    Currently using Webroot.

Emsisoft doesn't need to work on protection, user dependency or FP's, they need to work on not having the heaviest product in existence.... (besides G-Data :D )

We completed Trend 2015 beta at the beginning of August. The 'official' rollout of 2015 doesn't happen until later today. But you can download the trial version for whatever version you use, and the trial version will upgrade to paid. The trials rolling out starting last week are all 2015.

Some of the big things in 2015 - new interface, improved scanning speed, extremely lightweight. Also a 'threat adjustment' system, so if you are playing a full screen game the threat matrix is lowered, but if you are surfing a series of risky websites, the threat matrix (and hence detections) are increased. This is completely adjustable of course, or you can disable it, but it's very effective. Also Enterprise Level reporting has arrived to Trend consumer products, you can have it do daily, weekly security audits, and send extensive reports to you in email, etc. So you will get a report as much as you want on every machine in your home for example. Integrated privacy protection for all browsers.

Take a look at the design of 2015. I think it's gorgeous personally, and a whole lot of testing, design, and talent went into it.

I would disagree with that actually. Even with dual engine it was lightweight enough back when I tested it. Only that it slowed down Xmedia Recode's program launch, but that's only it. I agree with you about G Data though... =X

Maybe I need to heed everyone's advice and get Emsisoft another try.

Well, I just upgraded to version 2015, and I am blown away! This may be the new standard for av programs. Really top-notch. Congratulations all around. A really secure feeling, having this program.

calm down,, lol. it's only one test, doesn't mean too much. I mean, yes Avira has been good recently (I mean, maybe in the recent year), however I am still not going to use it if it insists bundling the load of extra crap.
