Had a go whilst i was offline for the test, & with ShadowDefender enabled. XP/SP2 On double clicking the .EXE it tried to phone home, which was disallowed by my cancelling the network dial out alert. Next you can choose between English or German. Then after agreeing to the License, the install proper begins. Don't know why my d: drive is listed ? It wasn't actually successful, as ProcessGuard automatically blocked this [DRIVER/SERVICE] d:\9e2d4689a18d9e0586fa898c0a9ef0\update\update.exe [2912] Tried to install a driver/service named Wdf01000 I didn't bother rebooting as SD would eliminate Everything, & as i thought a driver would be required, & also not sure about some of the updates etc wanting to be installed, i didn't try it for real. Interested to hear how others fair with it though, as it potentially "seems" like a good addition !
Wow, that's a great "security tool". First you connect an unkown usb flash drive and then you click on "deny". I would rather stay away from unknown usb flash drives, it's so easy and you don't need a software for that.
Yep, if your computing life is that simple, good on you. But where work colleagues frequently give me files via thumb drives, this thing makes sense. And family members and friends occasionally give me photos that way too. It's a good and simple tool. I do wonder if MBAE and other tools like that will soon take care of this making this tool obsolete.
Most of the security packages will eventually do this (Norton, Trend, etc). But it might take until the next major year revision (2016) to see them.
