Almost an entire year with no updates then it goes from 7.72 to 8.1 in one hop, and it just *happens* to coincide with the newly supported OS version number. mmhmm Should we expect a hop to version 9 once threshold is released? :p

Thanks for the amusing update sav! (tho thank you really, I do keep an eye on this soft)

Savainc, How is 8.1? Is it reliably stable? Probably a stupid question as Deep Freeze is professional all the way.

Syrinx, If Microsoft can jump from 8.1 to 10, I suppose Deep Freeze can reset their updates at 8.1. I actually makes since. The lack of updates in the past year (until recently) only shows you how incredibly stable DF is. Faronics is not a single "Tony" releasing software from China, unable to respond directly to support questions on Wilders and using an intermediary. For me, Shadow Defender will cause more problems in a week than Deep Freeze will in a year. The cultish devotion to SD is creepy, too. Too many questions about that software. Security and knowledge of the product, and its origins, is very important to me. Faronics is so far ahead in their software stability and professionalism - it's not even close.

Deepfreeze 8.1 runs well on my pc (win8.1x64).No Problems at all. However I've had some Trouble with Data Igloo as it leaves your apps broken after a user Profile redirection. Also I have experienced some weird Errors during attempts of user Profile redirection and Data Igloo automatically reverts all changes made after a failed redirection.I think it is better to Redirect Folders using Windows commands (mklink) on Windows 8.

Also I have to say that Faronics Support isn't very good when you have technical questions. I had a Feeling that they didn't read my tickets carefully as they answered as if they didn't quite understand what I wanted. So I had to explain them twice and in short sentences so that they really got my Problem. However they didn't come up with a solution. Also I have experienced that they are fast in offering appointments for remote Support which is a Thing I don't really want....

On the other Hand when you have issues with your license I found the Support to be very good.

Just my personal experience with them.
