Thanks for that, yes absolutely if he's happy then we should be happy for him that's all that matters :thumb: But I must say it came as a surprise that it's not Security related at all as that's what he had been doing for a long time and was so good at it, and that also makes it even harder to figure out what he's doing now....but I doubt he would have said Yes to it unless it was a step up from where he was at Webroot, especially if he feels it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I hope he can share more when it no longer needs to be a secret.

It was an awesome time and to see behind the scenes and Colorado is very nice in the Mountains with friendly people in the town of Boulder in which I visited the first night with a few from the Community Team.

Is anyone still using their beta key from the old days? I've been told that may have been part of the cause of all my issues, and that it shouldn't be used anymore, even though it still has more than 200 days left on it.

I have no Issues as I continue to use the BETA keycode and the keycode with Beta in it: XXXX-BETA-XXXX-XXXX and I have added many years on to that keycode so it's still valid.

I don't think they would I could ask! But if you check out my Webroot link in my signature line anyone around the world can buy from it even though the Offer Details says the US only and the during checkout you can choose any country and I live in Canada I did ask them to get that changed.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe the keycode has been the source of my issues. I retried the program today on a fresh copy of Windows (less than a week old), and I had all the same problems. Luckily I was prepared with a full backup this time.

What OS and if it's 32bit or 64bit? And any other Security software?

Win8-64bit. Had 360 Total Security install, but uninstalled prior to WRSA.

Ok and What are exactly are your issues? If they Continue it's best to Submit a Support Ticket so they can gather more in-depth logs from your system and they could see the issue for themselves and fix it for you.

Thanks for that message from Joe, TH! :thumb: I daresay Joe would deservedly distinguish himself in whichever field he chose.
I think (?) he's still a member here and at WR Community, so hopefully he'll drop bye and say hello at some stage.

It installs fine. Then after I reboot, I lose the system tray icon, can't open the GUI, and can't uninstall/reinstall. They've spent two hours remoting into my PC, but dont know what the issues is. I guess it's just one of those things. Thought since I restored the factory image for the PC, I would be able to reinstall WRSA, but the same problem occurred. This is on a PC that the program worked fine in prior months. I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with Plex.

One more Tidbit from Joe can't give you the Whole message and really he can't tell us where he has gone because he had to sign an NDA with the new place!

So yes if they need him he will help the new Webroot Team "engineers working on WSA are doing a great job!" So personally and I have been a Member of Wilders since 2004 I have no concerns with the future of WSA it's only going get better and stronger, who else can keep up with more than 200,000 new or variants of Malware per day these it was not so long ago we were lucky to see 200,000 in a year. http://www.brightcloud.com/platform/webroot-intelligence-network.php someone did say some would need more automation to keep up.

    Cheers,

    Daniel :)

Well contact Webroot support with WSA installed even ask for a Remote but I think gathering many logs from your system would be first step and they will send you the link to wsalogs.exe to gather them! There's nothing I can help you with as I don't have access to your system logs and not just a Scan Log.....!

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)

@Triple Helix Thanks buddy, yes the NDA had already occured to me, and it's great how he made himself still available to Webroot for consultation, if necessary.
And certainly WSA hasn't exactly declined recently, but has continued to improve, and hopefully will continue like that.

In any case, we were very fortunate to have the benefit of his advice, insights, and general patience and kindness, while we did, and we benefit from the great software he lead in developing.

Lucas was the second guy on my machine. He thought the issues was fixed, and disconnected. But shortly after I rebooted, and the problem returned.

Well let him know it's not and get him to connect again and go through the reboot process and he will reconnect after and look at it again that's all I can suggest sorry. Are you sure your not making any changes to the OS like SRP or EMET or anything else? Because I have a Win 8.1 Pro x64 VM and I have no issues and there are many with no issues or we would see them on the Webroot Community. It's very odd though!

    Thanks,

    Daniel
