Overkill, disable Drop rights to see if it makes a difference for you.

I don't think its necessary. Enabling Drop rights is causing the problem for you. You are the second user that can confirm the new Chrome doesn't crash if Drop rights is disabled. Nice, Overkill:cool:.

Installed 4.13.3 on two W7 machines with Chrome 37. No problems, but I haven't experienced much of anything wrong with Chrome 37 with SBIE.

I don't use chrome so I think I'll skip this update. Since I just went through the B.S. windows update download debacle am not in the mood for updating anything right now. I'm just glad I use Palemoon and never had a problem with sandboxie while using it.

I read your post about the error that you are getting, Wolfrun. Disappointing. Thats why I always do those updates a while after they come out. Last month I did them on the 29th. This months updates, I ll probably do them a couple of days before Septembers updates are released. Same as you with Palemoon, updating Firefox or SBIE is never a problem for me. Good luck my friend.

/off: Palemoon is a bad 64bit compilation and worth nuts. and it will be outdated next days, 24.8 is ready and if they wont upgrade to 31esr it is good as dead (and vulnerable). many problems with v24 and up to v31 were solved - palemoon still has these issues. more decent is pcxFirefox and lawlietfox. 64bit browsers in general have no advantage, in fact they are slower. there is only one good point like any 64bit program - if those need more ram for really big pictures (eg camera raw pictures). I am pulling my hair out with chrome. How do you stop it auto updating ? I have been having issues for weeks , I have a chrome incognito shortcut, yet when running sandboxed, it remembers all my history. Sometimes it will not work at all,so i open unsandboxed and it updates.
So i uninstall, download an old version from filehippo, the installer is only 90kb, when i install it updates. I now have bloody Version 39.0.2138.3 dev-m (64-bit)
Is it time to ditch chrome

My suggestion is then don't use it. Many other browsers to choose from.

You can disable Google update services and Update Scheduled Tasks. You can even delete both.

Hqsec, I think what Mick wants is get an old standalone version of Chrome that wont auto update to any of the latest versions after installation is done.

I wont suggest doing that but I tell you Mick, in the whole time that I have used Sandboxie, I only remember two issues with Firefox. One was after a Windows update about 4 years ago. A day or so after the troublesome Windows update came out, Tzuk released version 3.442 and fixed the problem. I skipped experiencing that problem myself since I always wait for a while before updating Windows.

And then a few months ago, after Firefox 27 (I think) came out, users that were using Avast along SBIE experienced problems, that took a few days to fix, I also skipped that problem since I don't use Avast.

Mick, Firefox is waiting for you.:D

Bo, I used to use nothing but firefox, loved it. However I developed problems ( laptop only ) . Pages took ages to load, yet chrome 'seemed' quite faster. Daft as it sounds, I now think it is a wireless problem. Had problems with my laptop since I recovered to factory settings. Anyway I'm off back to Firefox :)

Ok, thanks, I misread the post. If you google for "filehippo + chrome + version number" you can usually get full offline installer which won't auto update. It is from 30-50 MB large. Small online installers will auto update during installation.

O.K. not going into a browser war with you here. I use Pale Moon because it works well for me in Sandboxie and has done so for the past few years. Others use firefox (which I also used previous to Pale Moon and also liked very well), chrome, opera etc.. in sandboxie. Why? Probably because it works well for them. Which is fine by me. I am not going to go and criticize or try and poke holes in any of their setups just for the sake of "because I want to or I can".
If you like go here https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/pale-moon-browser-version-24-0-released.353292/page-2 and read post #41. That's it I'm done. End of discussion. This thread is supposed to be about Sandboxie anyway, not browser vs. browser.

Not so hqsec. Three of days ago, I myself downloaded Chrome from File hippo (installed Chrome, in Shadow mode, for the first time ever in my computers) and what I got was an 874 KB web installer. I installed Chrome 37 to see if I could reproduce the browser crashing under SBIE, as some users are experiencing, but couldn't do it (XP or W7 32 bits).:)

Sandboxie yes works just as fine with Chrome as Firefox usually. Though I must say Chrome can cause more upsets sometimes. It is the automatic updates etc. I would not call Chrome bad, it is actually a quite nice browser. Only I would never let my browsing get synched with it or to log in Google mail with a setting to be remembered. I might have though, sigh. :)

Yes, that's strange. Some versions have full installers (like v.31: http://filehippo.com/download_google_chrome/15986), other have only online installers. Even Oldversions .com don't have latest installers. I guess Google doesn't want us to install older (unsafe) installers. :)

I have now got my lifetime license but am i the only one who finds the slow startup of Chrome unacceptable. For me i find that any antivirus is faster. I would really just like to use this but its the one thing i cant accept. I like to click on Chrome and it opens without any delay but with sandboxie i am left waiting.
