just in case for the future if you need to remove a update here is how. go to control panel - windows update - view update history - installed updates - wait for list to load - scroll to microsoft windows and right click the one you want and select uninstall. this is the easiest way.

I've seen that, but I don't see a way to uninstall from that screen, at least not in Win8.1. I think in older versions you may have been able to right click, uninstall, but not in Win8.1. Also, there are about 20+ updates in August. Some I can tell are from Office, etc.. But I wouldn't know which one(s) I should get rid of.

If you double click on the update in that screen it should uninstall in Windows 8.1 (mine do)

Perhaps your permissions are a bit mixed up.

I removed the updates. From what I read, it seemed they most impacted fonts and/or internet explorer. Anyway, I'll probably wait a build or two before I try WRSA again. The issues I was experiencing doesn't seem to have anything to do with the faulty windows updates.

Yes it does! Don't forget the Cloud is always watching the Behavior of Browsers and the Protection from WSA's Identity Shield and it gets continually updated & upgraded for the latest Threats and Browser Extensions.

I just did a HD Scan with Defraggler and see a db5763.db with 926 fragments with a size of 114.444 KB for WRData that needs to be defragged.

Well you need to contact support and get all your unknown files whitelisted than once they confirm you can delete the Monitoring db file and only that one or one's with db.numbers

    HTH,

    Daniel :)

I called support and the guy connected to my pc and opened windows task manager. He then clicked on performance tab and showed me how unstable my computer is because the cpu usage percentage was messed up and going up and down fast in percentage. He looked at event viewer and said i had some bad warning about conflicts. i told him about the 8/12/2014 ms updates and the changes they must have made to the registry. He wanted $300.00 to fix windows files and registry and i said no thanks. i then ran a scan with MBAM and it found some Crypto thing so i clicked to remove it. MBAM wanted to restart to finish. After restart not much was running. Could not get to the internet. Most or all services were not working. PC sound did not work. I started System Mechanic App and did a Registry Restore from a Backup it took just before the 8/12/2014 MS Updates. It wanted to restart and restore so i clicked OK. After restart every looked like before. CPU Usage under task manager was stable unlike before. Services seem to be running. So far so good. The WRData file that i saw before with all the fragments is not there anymore.

    @Dragon1952

You could use Hitman Pro instead of MBAM because it has good repairing abilities.

Besides,"back up" is strongly recommended before these procedures.

    Good luck

Can anyone PM a copy of the "wrkrn.sys" driver? I'm having issues, and I think Webroot is out for the weekend.

Nevermind. Did another call with Webroot, they thought the issue was fixed and disconnected. But now after rebooting, all my issues are back. No system tray icon, can't open GUI, can't uninstall. This program may be worse than a virus. Guess I'll be spending the evening re-installing windows.

I don't think you were talking to a legit Webroot Support engineer as support is free of charge with a paid subscription and here is the Support Ticket link:Webroot Customer Service
or you can call them and use the one nearest to you: http://www.webroot.com/us/en/company/contact-us

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)

Your right Webroot does not charge for support with a valid subscription so I feel he wasn't talking to a Legit Webroot Support Engineer!

I haven't got it because I am in another snapshot, which isn't running WSA. I am beta testing other software. ;)

No doubt I will get the update when I switch into the WSA snapshot.
