Blackberry for work, do not own my own cell phone, absolutely no use for one right now. Blackberry works great to check email and use as an actual phone, not a heart rate monitor, or gaming consol or photo editor or any of that other crap that people think they need on their phones.
Yeah, buy more use less. I for one will enjoy using mine as anything but a phone (VOIP and emergency calls excluded).
Using Samsung SGH L-700 for past 6 years, without any glitch, EVER. It goes for a week without charging under moderated use. Built pretty good too, couple of times hit the floor, once I kicked it across the room accidentally, but only one scratch in all these years use.
Don't laugh, I'm still using a Verizon LG VX5500 Compact Flip Phone. It does the job for me. I only use the phone when I'm on the road for emergencies or when I'm out shopping with my wife, I'll call her to find out where she is in the store. The phone bill is cheap!
Past couple of years was using the Motorola W408g. Due to requirements of my work I needed to upgrade to an unlimited minutes plan. As a result, also decided to upgrade the phone as well to the Huawei Ascend 6.
Iphone 3GS. I just like how it looks but I hate it as I can not trust smartphones at all. I use it with cellular data network off, and when I need to enable it, I use a VPN. There are as less apps as possible on it. It would be exactly the same thing with all other smartphones. I even wanted to shunt the microphone(s) with the external switch to turn it off when unused. I am not really friend with new technologies privacy issues... Except, maybe, for an Ubuntu phone ?
BlackBerry Z10 for me. Among many other features, I like the app permissions system that lets me allow/deny various permissions that apps request. If I don't feel that an app should have access to my contact list, camera, location, etc... I disable those permissions. (This being a privacy/security forum after all )
You can do the same in Android with custom ROMs. Dont get me wrong, im not bashing Blackberry or saying Android is better.
I hate phones without removable batteries. Hahahaha I tend to use my phones for quite a long time and as we all know, batteries degrade over time so i always change them at least twice before i eventually get a new phone.
Yes, though all the phones I actually like(One M8, Nexus 4/5, OnePlus One) don't have removable batteries.
Yes, I agree with you. I have never owned a phone will a non removavale battery. Actually at the moment I change phones every 12 months or so, so don't have them for a long time, so battery degredation is not a big issue. But it was nice being able to replace the battery in my S5 knock off with a geniune Samasung one, and get more better battery life.
just got today a Nokia Lumia 635 running Windows 8.1. I tried a Windows Phone about 6 months ago and quite enjoyed the experience. I run Windows 8.2 (also known as Windows 8.1 Update 1 ) on my computer so it seemed a natural fit to get a Windows phone.
