Honestly, I welcome to the dislikes for a product. Everyone has different expectations and values, so what works for me doesn't always work for you. I've reenabled blocking after the update on my testing machine. Seems to be running well, I don't noticed any performance problems but honestly can't say performance improvement either. I ran a scan before and after the install and both completed about the same time. Some of the buginess of the GUI seems to have been ironed out. Not sure if that's just because this is a clean install or because they've honestly made fixes. The only thing I'm taking away from the update is honestly the name change.

I installed the Gold version for a short time and it also looks the same, I wonder if they are now all using the same codebase as the Cloud AV's.

Panda Global Protection 2015 – New features
    • The most complete antivirus: New architecture based on Panda’s cloud.
    • Much smaller local signature files.
    • New firewall: Protect your Wi-Fi network from intrusions and attacks.
    • Rescue Kit: Boot infected PCs in safe mode and clean them.
    • Keep your confidential documents safe from prying eyes.

i wonder if panda has finally figured out how to fully QA their products. it always annoyed me that their core detection capabilities are decent, but they don't care enough to fix typos and localization issues in the UI that have been there since 2010 or earlier (which have been reported every year during beta). i guess i'll have to check this one out and see if they finally polished stuff a bit.

  5. Trying the free version now. When I remmber correctly PSAHOST needs outbound firewall access and Panda News needs to be set off, to reduce pop-ups

Considering that "50% off" is like news, lets hope it brings down the fraquency of popups. I'm yet to see popup after I disabled "Show Panda news". We'll see in a week or so.

More thoughts about the popups: Lots of Panda users are users that don't have Panda antivirus available in their own language. Also I don't think that popups are translated anyways. So it's more like irritating those users other than helping them get better protection. They simply don't understand what's written...

I had an old Panda Cloud AV key which is working for Panda Antivirus Pro now. I really like how light it is, the GUI is compact and nice. However, Panda products are still very expensive:

    1 pc / 1 year Panda Antivirus Pro € 39,99
    1 pc / 1 year Panda Internet Security € 49,99
    1 pc / 1 year Panda Global Protection € 69,99
    1 pc / 1 year Panda Gold Protection € 89,99

They should really reduce the prices ... :doubt:

And that's just for 1 PC. Most others give you for 3 systems and 1 year for that kind of price.

but you can regularly find deals at places like newegg where its either free after rebate or highly discounted. i saw a 3pc IS version for about 10$ not to long ago without rebate. otherwise i have seen it free or .99 with the rebate. though i dont use it i have tried so many times to like it and i just cant.

The third day here testing panda free, haven't seen any pop-up, and panda news is on ? strange.
Its very very light and faster than some others, but i have an issue at boot up with a black screen for about 10 seconds

when testing the 2015 beta i had that same issue. during boot up it would flicker to a black screen and sit there and then just jump to the desktop with icons already loaded up. i reported it a few times and it seems never got fixed. i did not find it to be super light though it was FAR better than panda has been in the past but not what i would call very very light. it was pretty good but for sure not the lightest

For me Panda Cloud is the only av that slow down PC shutdown .

It adds about 10 seconds to shutdown. All versions that i tried starting from 2.3 do this on my xp machine.

Other than that seems to work good.

Smaller local signature files means lower detection rate offline. So this actually is a negative to me. What if my computer is used offline against a USB-transmitted virus? Not everyone uses their computer online all the time.

Well, maybe they just consolidated them somehow, it's not exactly something new...

Had to uninstall. Several "ordinal" 459 or 456 error messages that would randomly popup. Did a clean reinstall, still doing it. Was close to buying a license too.

Same product yes, but Panda free 2015 has been improved, also with the XMT engine

"Such evolution has led to our creation of the XMT engine, a technology that has helped Panda achieve the best results in the latest comparative tests by independent laboratories."

So Panda Cloud 3.0 was using XMT engine, because version 2015 wasnt tested by independent laboratories until now. These XMT engine talk is just for advertising the transition from traditional signature products to full cloud antivirus.

As I see Panda 2015 solution line is totally based on Panda Cloud 3.0 technology, what happened to free version was just a change name, but of course I can be wrong.

It's the only AV I use on my machines. It is light, very few FP's and seems to be working just fine on any Win OS I install it on. I am running the latest free version 15.0.1
