How To Print Excel Spreadsheet??

I have an older version of MS Excel with a spreadsheet that contains over 3,000 rows and 10 columns. I want to print this spreadsheet and include all of the rows, but only include 5 of the 10 columns.

Also, I would like the font size for the five columns being printed to be large enough to fill the width of the page (with margins on either side, of course),

Can anyone give me some help with this?

 

Based on Excel 2003 here.
I'll give you just few, minimum steps to start with.
I assume you have some printer in existence and that Office/Excel knows about it.
- move columns so that they are adjacent, you can drag'm. Confirm that your calcutations didn't break. Depending on how you built formulas they will or will not break. excel shines in not breaking, but it can happen if you use a lot of absolute refs.
- set font to something typical 8, 10, 12, whatever
- I assume you have column/variables/field names on top of your 3000 rows
- Select your 5 columns
- Click File > Print preview - it's your big friend, and much better than in Word. Observe the buttons/tabs on top.
- Margins tab/button - click it, and drag the margins watching size from the edges of paper in the lower left corner
- Setup tab/button
--- page tab: landscape or portrait
--- sheet tab: you can repeat column/variable titles on every page by selecting the top row, and I normally select gridlines and don't select row & column headings
--- header/footer tab/button: here you can use the little icons to print things like path, book name, sheet name, date, page
- Click Close tab/button to be back on standard excel worksheet
- With your 5 columns selected, File > Print and then print Selection. Run a printout just for one page, correct above if not looking good.
- File > Print preview again, now make sure all your columns are wide enough for whatever they contain. If not you can wrap the data using the main menu with a column selected and use Format cells > Alignment, Wrap text under text control section.
I suggest you never merge cells, nor shrink to fit.
- If you print 60 rows in portrait mode, expect 50 pages. Ouch.

 

I'm not sure which version you have, but try this.

* Right click on the header row (A,B,C etc) and choose hide column
* Click in the first cell you want to print (eg A1), hold down the ctrl key on your keyboard and scroll to the last cell you want to print. Click it

All of your info should now be highlighted.

Find the menu command for 'set print area' and click.

Print preview your output.

If the print isn't large enough repeat the above steps and manually increase the text size from the menus.

As act8192 says, be prepared for industrial paper and ink useage!
