    In Win7, I am currently running the most recent version of Chrome... 36.0.1985.125.
    But I noticed two folders, each with a different, older Chrome version number.
    The folders are 140MB and 280MB respectively.

    Here are the path for these two folders:
    C:\Users\Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\34.0.1847.131
    C:\Users\Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\34.0.1847.137

    This doesn't make sense to me, and perhaps someone can check their own directories and see if anything like this exists for them?
    I don't understand it... except maybe I saved them once when I was updating Chrome.

    I think it would be good to adios these two folders, and was going to create a backup image first, then delete them both.

    Thanks for any input.

    I have installed in Program Files directory and I also have old version saved. I read about it way back and Google said it's normal for updater to leave one backup version of Chrome installer in those folders.

    Confirmed. It's the same for Opera (Chromium). The last previous version is always kept. Though I didn't find how it works because if you try to uninstall Opera you don't get an option to revert back to the previous version. So I only guess that if you want to revert to the previous build you would have to delete folder of the newer version. Maybe someone more accustomed to Chromium would shed more light.

    I dont see any repetitive previous versions of chrome in those folder paths you mentioned, however mine reside in;

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\35.0.1916.153
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\36.0.1985125

    i have never seen more than 2 previous versions of chrome folders.

    By the looks of it, your version of chrome is installed in user space. Could this be correct? Chrome now install to the programs directory instead of user space like in the past.

    regards

    Thank you for the responses. I think I'm going to get rid of the two folders in question.
    I hadn't paid that much attention to the fact that they are installed in user space, but I take it, that's what Chrome used to do. :thumbd:
