Firefox 31 (final) is available on Mozilla's FTP server and from various download sites, such as Majorgeeks and Downloadcrew.

Unfortunately, I had to ditch Firefox

Rapid updates are always featureless and offer nothing exciting and new to the table, and if it does, it takes a loooooong time to get there.

I just think they're falling way behind in the browser game.

To me, I think Firefox needs to step it up.

@TyRidian - Which browser are you using instead? And what (if anything) do you find it does better than Firefox?

It makes sense that the shorter the release cycle the fewer changes/features will appear in each new version. The advantage is you don't have to wait as long for the small fixes, security improvements, etc. As for Firefox "falling behind" what exactly do you think Mozilla should be doing?

Hi Ty, while you want new features, I get rid of them as soon as they are put in place.;)

Although this feature was not turned on by default (at least in Beta 1) as advertised: Firefox 32: Preferences open in a tab by default, you can follow the article's directions to make the change, should you wish to see this new feature. It works on FF31 as well.

It works but I am a bit disappointed that the controls are not OS-native. At least not on Windows (haven't tried Linux).

My main issue, is that Firefox doesn't currently have a separate/multi process (Sandbox) feature.

I am aware that Firefox has a project going on, that will soon introduce such a feature, but until then...I'll wait til' it's here.

I currently use Google Chrome and Maxthon as my secondary.

In FF32 Beta 1, the right-click context menu has changed, and it looks like this:

As you can see, the old Go Back One Page, Go Forward One Page, Reload Current Page and Bookmark This Page selections, have been replaced by top icons, all in one row.

It kinda reminds of the main menu in mobile browsers.

I have never seen one user using back/forward buttons in the context menu.

It would be quicker to use the back/forward buttons on the mouse.
I don't know who is in charge of making decisions about Firefox, but he/she needs sacking.

The "features" they have been "adding" lately ?
Sure, what you explain is the main reason why people are ditching FF lately.

Yes, "Electrolysis" is in the works. I wonder how much difference the isolated tab processes make though? It would interesting to read some data about how much protection the sandboxing provides against real world attacks. Meanwhile there are other ways to harden Firefox while we wait.

I think the best thing about Firefox is that we can have it function and look the way we want. I personally don't like changes like flashing download buttons, tabs on top or opening my bookmarks as a drop down menu. There is more but those changes would get me looking at other browsers if I couldn't change things back to how it was before.

Firefox allowing us to have it our way, I think is what makes Firefox the best. DOSawaits, you can use this addon to get rid of everything that smells like Chrome and make your Firefox function and look the way you want it. Five changes is all I do with it to make my Firefox become Firefox again.

I think people that want sandboxing in Firefox ought to move to Chrome or sandbox the browser with Sandboxie. Sandboxing Firefox with SBIE can be done with the free version, protection is exactly the same as with the paid version. You can not get better sandboxing than that. I personally don't want sandboxing in Firefox because I know when that happens, running Firefox under Sandboxie might become a problem, conflicts will be normal everytime Firefox or Sandboxie updates and addons like NoScript are likely not going to work as good as they do now.

I'm a fan of mouse gestures. I think something like Opera had a few years ago, when they had that feature which made appearing a navigator when a mouse gesture was executed, would be better.

They're losing market share because they're not Google or Microsoft. If Microsoft/Google would replace tomorrow IE/Chrome with Firefox most of them wouldn't notice.
