You can yes, it will ask if you want to uninstall previous versions and obviously do so. BUT..its recommended to use there official un install tool first then do a fresh new install.

Sorry for the oversight. Vsserv.exe sure does make a difference! (adding about 85MB), but BD still seems light to me.

    "Very light" indeed!
    Only for vsserv.exe = 205.592K!!!!........ lol!

Seems that RAM usage goes hand in hand with PRICE......

RAM usage is not problem, my ESET AV using about 110 MB of RAM but it is very light on system.

Ram usage isn't light, but I have 32GB. 200MB doesn't bother me. It is only using 45MB on a PC with 3GB. The old laptop with 3GB it is just as light on. Cannot tell it is there.

As far as price, I ended up purchasing Total Security for $5, 3PC's for a year and had it downgraded. The account ended up with a total of 485 days.

I'm not referring to you personally.
Speaking generally and compared with other AVs the RAM usage & prices for BD are too high, IMHO.

One should not measure how (light/heavy) a product is on the system (whether it slows the system down or not) based on the RAM usage.

    I already know that..........

Regardless the above mentioned, my opinion remains:

Bitdefender gives away so many free licenses all the time that you could almost call it fraud when someone actually buys it.

I'm not saying the ram usage isn't high. I'm just saying, why would anyone care? I would rather have high ram usage and low system impact, ie "lightness", rather than low ram usage and a heavy product.

I don't think Bitdefender is that overpriced. When I think of overpriced, ESET comes to mind. A product which i would happily purchase and use if I could find a deal like I have gotten with Webroot,
    Kaspersky and Bitdefender.

With the prices I have paid for them with little money, research or time, I wouldn't say they are expensive. I don't think anyone pays full price for BD and if they do they are insane.

The PC in my sig scored higher on PCMark benchmark with Bitdefender 2015 than with Webroot, Kaspersky, 360, Avira, or NOD32. Those were the only ones tested. I'll have to make up some screenshots.

When I said light, I meant the way the OS felt, games ran, programs loaded, copied, etc...as well as a baseline benchmark comparison.

I'm not a big BD fan. Just like testing stuff.

RAM is there to be used as required so I don't see why ppl get so caught up with RAM usage (shouldn't be an issue as long as you have at least a couple of gigs)! BD does not 'hit the CPU very hard' and that is why it seems to be relatively light on the system.

BD customer service was happy to combine them for me in the past.

Did BD cs combine 2 or more promotional licenses?

They combined a free promo license with a paid license (which I paid next to nothing for).

I don't see why they wouldn't combine promo-licenses together, but maybe they have a policy against it.

I tried to downgrade a BTS promotional license to an BIS license. BD cs twice denied me. If it was a paid license they would've.

Did you mention it was a promo? I just told them I wanted them combined. Really didn't say much else and they took care of it.
