Yes Lenovo G780 17" i5 3rd 16GB 128SSD 2GB Nvidia switchable - fresh install 7 Pro x64 - images - no recovery partitions. Waiting for 5th i's to come though and strike a lightening deal. Very fortunate last 2 I bought I got half off on deals that were OOS in <1 day.
Of course. Whether it's the gaming laptop I spent $1200 one or the Chromebook I spent $120, I'm quite happy with both. Except the crappy netbook I sold.
I experience long periods of complete satisfaction interrupted by short bursts of utter aggravation that sometimes endanger my mouse.
Very happy – although I did not have a promising start (the motherboard developed intermittent problems 3 weeks after purchase!) and I had to send it back to the manufacturer for replacement. (the 5 weeks it was gone for seemed like an eternity – I can tell you!) I originally preferred a desktop PC – but bought a laptop as it was far below the cost of an equivalent desktop. In retrospect, I'm glad that I went for the laptop due to portability and space considerations.
May be so: I have a dual core desktop, not too bad but in these years I wished a better, faster and safer development of pc: ssd hard disks, new processors, 64 bit have again limits and sometimes issues, so I wait for change my pc.
I have 3 devices. My legacy laptop (15yrs) has never failed hardware wise. It has seen many versions of windows, with XP being the most reliable and last compat version for that device. It now runs Linux and is used pretty much daily. We kept XP, all programs and files on an external USB attached HD so stuff could still be accessed. My current laptop is of 2009 vintage and has had no hardware issues either, whereas the desktop has had some issues (memory cards and cmos failures). The desktop is the family computer so it does suffer some abuse by those who do not pay the bills and I have had to administer first aid. Neither is W8 compat. so in 2020 they will be become Linux powered, that is if they do not go casters up by then. How can I not be pleased? My next laptop will have to be W9 compat (big brute, no doubt). Everybody's luck runs out, eventually ...
I am delighted with my two new destops. Both gaming machines, both running great. Best part is I was able to get them with Win 7x64. I am loving that.
I wouldn't mind some more RAM. It doesn't have enough to run a heavier guest on VPC when the Tor load is heavy. A little more flexibility in the cabinet would be nice too. Some of what I'd like to try can't be done with this hardware. Hardware limitations aside, I'm quite happy with this PC. It is rock stable, much faster, and runs more than one would expect given its specifications. It's not everything that I want in a PC but it is everything that I need.
Yep, my home built i5 with 16G of memory, an SSD and Windows 7 Pro is the best I've ever had and I am very happy with it.

Yes, stable, nice and quiet. Since it is more than 2 years old, I would not mind something more powerful, but it still manages all my favorite games, so it is OK.
An old W7 laptop, it still gets the job done, but when using certain applications I notice the lack of RAM (a measly 3 GB).
Hahahaha well my desktop works perfectly but i still see lots of things where it could improve. Faster CPU, RAM, GPU, SSD, more HDD storage . . . oh wait, im already changing the whole thing. Hahahaha
Yes I am. My latest notebook is extremely fast and stable, also due to Windows 8, arguably the best OS I've experienced so far...
Mine is 4 years old and doesn't run new games very good. I will probably build another one this autumn, but I said the same thing last year.
I'm utterly .... peeved ... that we now have to factor the Advanced Persistent Threat of our own governments, who have also weakened security and attack sys admins. And that endpoint security is so weak. That there is no default presumption of security of privileged communications. That I have to spend my time protecting stuff that should not be under assault from central network locations. Apart from that, the utility of plenty of RAM, SSD, and modern operating systems is pretty darn good from a usability POV.
Yup. It has only a Core 2 Duo CPU & 4 GB of RAM... but I get the most out of it that I can and it treats me well. Very quiet and very responsive.
