This is weird, I get insane results from Magician 4.4, 3314 seq read, 4299 seq write. I'm using rapid mode but my numbers seem a bit high, I tried ismyhdok and got this:

    Is.png

Too big of a difference from yours, I don't know what is going on.

    mantra,

What do you make of the slow seq write speed with the 840 128 GB?

Can you try Atto with both drives and post screenshots?

The Evo is 531 and the 840 is only 131.

Are you sure? A mechanical HD can match that speed.

Here is a comparison, Rapid on, Rapid off, Rapid back on:

    EvoComp.jpg

So Rapid does something good, but I still do not understand the wildly higher numbers for the sequential operations.

    thanks a lot Focus
i download the prev version of samsung magician , and i will test it
i guess it's a buggy program , at least i tried samsung magician 4.4 (the last version ) and i tried to optimaze the drive , it keeps 2 seconds (weird)
the prev version , keept at least 2 minutes

do you use only samsung magician 4.4 ?
    or other softwares?

    thanks again!

    @mantra,

Yeah very fast for me too with the latest magician software, but i think it's normal, other software like Elphamsoft ssdtweaker did the trim optimisation very fast (6-8 seconds).
There is a tool named trimcheck, but this tool doesn't verify optimization (i mean sending of TRIM/UNMAP commands).

Samsung Magician software 4.4 release :

    -Support new model 850 Pro(nearly october 2014)
-Rapid v1.1 (able to cache up to 4Gb)
-PCIe SATA card, Marvell chipset support
    -Remove the UAC alarm
-Retain the optimization mode when updating the Magician
-Improve the operation speed of Performance Optimization.

So, i post my benchmark (rapid mode enabled) and realtime security products during the test with my ssd 840 pro 256B, AHCI mode, if you get these nearly result, i think all is fine (my opinion).

    rules.

i don't use rapid mode , but your score are impressive
may i ask you what program is it in your system tray? i mean the blue icon with the S

do you think Elphamsoft ssdtweaker is worth to try/buy?
    thanks a lot!

    The S is SpyShelter firewall.

    Good question, answer :

I have actually it insalled (pro version) why :
Because the tweaking options are the best and right for me.
Because i disagree with tweaking options in the magician software (not all), but for example the indexing service, sleep mode, virtual memory are in the performance module Tab of the soft, sorry i just don't understand and laugh:).

In fact i just use the Magician for Rapidmode, optimization and firmware update, i will never set other options.

I forgot to say that my system run under UEFI mode.

@Rules I like the look of the Elphamsoft software, I'm going to try it. Thanks.

@mantra Why don't you use Rapid mode?

Normaly if you are used two identical samsung ssd evo in Raid 0, i think you will reach about 1000-1200 Mo/S in write read mode, but this Raid 0 is also risky for your data, and i agree that the RapidMode is not safe too.

I don't know, mantra. How do you know that it doesn't work properly? By the time it takes to perform, alone?

I upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4 and have only noticed a marginal difference and that's on two machines. Regardless, 4.4 doesn't appear to take any less time than does the built-in optimization utility in Windows 8.1, when I use the latter on my machines.
