I saw those other threads about the site, but it went without a hitch and the key was immediate. I would happily use them again. As with all such sites, I always pay with Paypal as it is safer

    G-Dumb at it again... (# 58 )

How many times do they have to embarrass themselves for the "big boys" here to finally realize that I'm not making things up?! I'd try a Bitdefender beta before it.

Fix your link first. Every AV software has issues for certain configurations, did you know it? I, for instance, always have had every kind of problems I could have with Bitdefender that you mention, difference is I don't go posting trash about it on every forum and topic I can think of.

You better start thinking positive on G Data, don't you? Start by taking a look here https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thre...-in-china-comes-equipped-with-malware.365007/

Says the guy who 'cant leave alone' Avast in other threads with worse reasons than mine, but gets away with all the crap he posts anyway.
    According to whom?

Now tell me, fanboys and apologists, if the software is so good, why do users have so many issues or why did they have to chicken out of AVC? Riddle me this. Just because you're too lazy or scared to even bother getting the posts in their native language translated doesn't mean it's not a time bomb waiting to set off.

Credit to them, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I hate making multiple posts back-to-back but couldn't edit any of them, so I'll respond to Macstorm again, one of the few intelligent GD fans.

I am bashing G-Data because they have no redeeming qualities whatsoever:

    - It's the second half of 20 freaking 14 already, yet unlike many vendors once known for their heavy and bloated products, they've never, ever improved on that.

    - Their recent pathetic "efforts" in developing their so-called in-house technologies with a myriad of bugs and issues, only to end up severely outclassed by any decent AV in AVC in every category but file detection and ultimately running away. Apart from that, they're also far behind other vendors when it comes to malware research, as shown by their lack of blog entries about that, and for example having even been beaten by six(!) vendors to their Ouroboros "discovery".

    - Resorting to jingoistic crap like 'Made in Germany/Germansicherheit' when no legit result can support their outrageous claims all the while a Romanian engine is their bread and butter.

    - The stark discrepancy between AVC and AVT real-world test results. Considering the latter's insistence on still running tests on XP, and that their results are very different from users' real-life experience in general (Eset, MSE etc. are underrated while some others are overrated), it's safe to say either AVT are extremely incompetent or they let the likes of GD buy their way to good results.

    - Their hypocrisy of pulling out of AVC for methodological reasons all the while happily participating in far more questionable tests.

    - Insular and provincial company culture bereft of ethics, vision, foresight or ambition, namely next to zero effort to acknowledge their failings or open to foreign markets as well as awful use of the language on most of their English website.

I respect your tastes, but don't confuse getting lucky with a product with getting one that will ever amount to anything. Also, I'm sorry but you're aiding and abetting all their crimes against the IT security sector by wasting your hard-earned money on those scum.

I have been using GDATA for some time now after fancying a change. I have only positive things to say about it and am happy with it. So if you don't mind, I will ignore your findings

It's not supposed to be anything more than just an on-demand scanning test, so it's fair and square, I think.

Good Afternoon! Osmandemi...when I re-installed G-Data it stated a new version was available. But all you need do is click on the question mark on the upper right hand corner of the GUI...that has the windows shield...and states to update program. That should do it! Sincerely...Securon

    "..like a Porsche.."

    I like that.

And an apt comparison indeed -- as both are premium German products.

As they say, "Trust in German Sicherheit"

That's what they say -- really.

And this testing of G-Data, Wow. G-Data rocked this test.

    I
t is no wonder that Outside In and others are such big fans of this product.

Like I always say, It is not safe, until it's sicher.

Last time I checked, Acronis is a German product too. If the Germans are so good, why can't they build computers and smartphones while even China can? They're now just as capable as producing crap as any other country, so I'm not having any of these dumb cliches and stereotypes anymore even if they're semi-serious.

As a German I find this "German Sicherheit" slogan ridiculous and embarrassing - and they forgot to mention the Romanian part of course

Finally a sensible German who's only concerned with finding a good product rather than enabling incompetents just because they happen to come from his own country. :thumb:

I'm shocked at these responses. Shocked I tell you..

I declare both you and Upside Down to be non-sicher.

Next you will be telling me that Mercedes and Audi are not good cars... It's just crazy out there.

    IN GERMAN SICHERHEIT I Trust.

-Link to THE Answer to everything-

    Amen.
