Glad to see that ads in the paid versions can now be disabled. NG is not here yet but looks like it may be here soon. Thanks to True Indian for asking the question.

Well, maybe for a 2015 version in October? ;) It will still be "this" year, technically :)

A good addition being able to disable ad pop-ups. I can't remember being bothered much with them when I used Avast but is is something people have asked for - and not only with Avast but other paid-for AVs as well.

This is the first beta. It means release 4, so it's forth release after initial 2014 release. You can call it "maintenance release".

No you haven't. I see absolutely no technical reason why avast! wouldn't be able to protect System32 folder.

'We've added ability to disable promotion popups (in PRO/IS/Premier editions). We strongly believe that our additional products can be valuable for you, but we also respect your will not to be bothered by such offers.'

Won't use Avast soon. My hopes are gone for good.

I appreciate your optimism, but do you actually expect sense from someone paying for a third-rate AV?

Yes don't expect to much sense from nsm0220, he continually trolls avast threads posting unfounded rubbish constantly and purely for the reason he was banned from the Avast forum for trolling and spreading FUD there also.

Seems to think that GData has poor results because of avast and feels the need to bash the forum with ridiculous comments.

have they added yet more uneeded junk this time around? soon avast will tell you what to eat and when to wake up and go to bed maybe what clothes to wear that day. i love avast av but sorry there is so much junk in it now. if they would release a stripped down version with only the av and or firewall and NOTHING else i would start using it again. i miss those days of avast. i may test this new ability to turn off the ads (which i honestly think should NOT EVER be included in the PAID versions anyway, free sure and people have to expect that you are getting a free product in exchange for those ads, but something ive paid for... no way.) but unless i can do away with everything besides the av and firewall and not be nagged to install anything then ill still not be using it. again please note avast itself is still one if my favorite av's just wish all the added junk would go away

Why u blame avast? do a costum install and its done. maybe some ppl exist they want to use some of the features? if u dont want or cant do a costum install it isnt the fault from avast.

because even when you do a custom install in the past it still tried to get you to install all the extra junk afterwards. and yes im blaming avast, there is NO need for all the extra garbage they keep adding in there. if i wanted it all i would have bought the mega jumbo ridiculous ultimate BLOAT edition. but i DONT.
