I can assure you that BD Free is far from dead and is being actively developed like all their products. Why is it that a product has to change every month for you folks to think it is still alive. How bout if it aint broke, dont fix it.

When and where is the last change log posted publicly that shows what's been done. And as mentioned above, the Logs button issue has been outstanding for literally years now.... that's absurd.

I get that problem with the Logs button. When it doesn't work on my LUA account, it fast user switch to an admin account and it works. Then I switch back to the LUA account and it doesn't but some days the Logs button works on the LUA.

Is Bitdefender now Comodo? Still no proof this AV has expired, just idle speculation, rumor, hearsay. You wonder why no Bitdefender reps come on Wilders anymore - take a look at all the potshots, insults, lies hurled at them on just this thread.

From the same forum, the last product update post was October 2013, 9 months ago, and this thread for update notices is CLOSED. Somehow, that doesn't look very promising, does it?

I use Avast but I don't makeup and post wild speculations about Bitdefender.
Take a look at YOUR AV's forums and see if there are any complaints, closed threads, disgruntled users, malcontents.:argh:
There are some results over at MalwareTips that show BDIS and Bitdefender Free have exactly the same detection and protection results. Aren't you are a member there?

Nope, not a member there. I have no particular interest in BD Free or anything else. But from what many of us have seen here and from outstanding product bugs, it does appear that BD Free is an abandoned product, and has been for some time now. I don't see what other conclusion any of us can come to after all this time. But again, I have no vested interest in it either way.

The update thread for the regularly updated, paid version of Bitdefender, The New Bitdefender - Product Updates, is also closed. It's so nobody can post to it except Christian (or anyone else with permission to do so).

Bitdefender paid only issues a new version once a year, as well.

BitDefender actually only seems to update program itself when it involves interface and other core elements. The rest seems to be updated with regular engine and definition updates since pretty much entire engine like with Kaspersky and many others where entire scan engine is actualyl downloaded from the internet. So, any updates for that also involve a lot of general stuff. They only need actual program update to improve features and since there aren't many in free BD, they don't really release them...

  25. Last time I tried, BD Free had an executable which was not ASLR enabled. Is this solved?
