Question about using VPN+TOR on a home network

Hi there,

I'm using VPN+TOR on one device on my home-network. On this device, I always disable VPN+TOR when I browse casual stuff like my regular email and other google services or facebook.

But what about the other computers on my network?
If I'm using VPN+TOR on one machine, and my girlfriend is using the other computer on my network at the same time - would it compromise me? And if yes, to what extent?

Also, I read that it may be unsafe to use VPN when using services like those offered by google/facebook who have private information about you, and store it indefintely. What do you guys thinks?

If you have any recommendation on proper tutorials/guides for internet security and anonymity - I'd greatly appreciate it.

It is extremely easy to isolate your VPN connected device from others on your network!

 

If you are connected to a VPN she will not be able to see where you are going or what you are doing because your connection is encrypted from your computer to the VPN service.

If you use a VPN and log into Facebook, they may ask you to verify who you are to make sure that your account is not being hacked. But information they collect will have nothing to do with you using or not using a VPN. If you log into their services and give them your information, they will have it. A VPN would have nothing to do with it.
