I believe in the confirmation email and/or order confirmation page there's a link to "cancel subscription". This will maintain your purchase for the first year but cancel any future auto-renewals.

You can protect any Internet-facing application such as FTP, email, IRC, Skype, etc. Simply add them as profile other.

    Hello bellgamin,

Thanks for the above post as I was just getting ready to ask about email clients myself ;) . Also, how about instant messenger software such as Pidgin and Trillian?

@Pedro: Congratulations on the new release and being out of beta :thumb: !!! I cannot wait to try out the custom shields!

    Hello Pedro,

I assume the complimentary beta testers license has the same terms as the subscription (up to 3 computers for 1 year)? The "About" tab in the GUI does not give any information about this except for your license ID...

Shielded Application count keeps going back to zero (Yes, while browser is still open), makes me feel like I am not being protected by MBAE anymore. Could this be fixed, please?

Going with EMET, since the free version of MBAE is too limited. As for premium (even as a beta tester), I only accept lifetime licenses.

Yes, we did fix a few scenarios where this happened but there's still some uncontrolled conditions. We'll have to take a new look at it.

    Thanks for replying so quickly

That would be great if this could be fixed.

Plus, have you thought about implementing an overlay over the MBAE tray icon, for example when the browser is open, we can see Shielded Application count over the tray icon.

So then, do I understand correctly that the Premium license is just a 1-year license?

Correct, (for up to 3 PCs)...

It would've been nice if the license was good for v1.x,not many would prefer paying for yearly subscriptions.:doubt:

IMHO, MBAE should have a lifetime license or much lower price to gain more users.

  18. Untitled.png OK, ran free version in a vanilla Windows 7 Ulltimate fresh install with "ONLY" chrome installed: Chrome still occasionally hangs. Bug can't be caused by other (security) software, because there is non. In Windows Event Monitor, no issues with hardware either (nor critical OS events).

Imaged back to security setup (to be clear: test was not done using my default image)

Results AppTimer: big difference in program start delay IE versus Chrome, protection for Chrome is on (dll injected and reported in MBAE)

  22. Lifetime lisence is not a valid business model, when that is the only source of income.

With Windows moving to low rights container execution of rich content ("file-less or in-memory intrusions) programs, only thing to be concerned about is anti-exploit protection: AppGuard is major version lisence (you pay for 4.xx f.i.). MBAE and HMPA are yearly fee's, EMET is free.

I consider shoot-in-the-foot and social-engineering as self inflicted pain caused by user stupidity to which only AV's provide a suitable answer to. Some free AV's (Panda, 360, Avira, Fortinet) do a really good job, so consumers can choose free EMET or pay for this last malware frontier fight (unless you are stupid enough to use a webbrowser with no low rights container).

Running the free version of MBAE on Win 7 x64 Pro and although Chrome will launch I cannot load any websites. Firefox is not affected. Can only browse with Chrome by stopping MBAE protection. Was working ok yesterday so no idea what has changed.
Several others are seeing this problem I see.

Cant see me paying for a yearly licence either only the version model like appguard.

I do have a years licence of hitman pro but i take into consideration that the definitions take up quite a bit of work.
I dont mind paying for scanning security software.

Do you have EMET running alongside?
