Hi, sorry i didn't get back to you yesterday. My KB went dippy after i spilled some tea on it ! Stipping & cleaning it didn't work, so i had to buy a new one today.

    @ Ashanta187

Hi, as i explained in my previous post, Nothing showed up when i tried that.

Https-Everywhere is uninstalled. And yes, i'd like to try & get Calomel SSL display working again, if possible. It is reinstalled, but only the options i've set are working, which is nice & wanted, but i'm just missing the SSL part of it.

I found that prefs.js can be very useful.

    @ MikeBCda

No live links i could find for @ MikeBCda ? Any chance you could send it to an upload www & PM me with the link ?

Have you tried to create a new profile right now and see if calomel is working well ?

One of the SSL seems to be missing in order to work properly with Calomel.
I can recommend you, to delete all your profiles, uninstall FF, then installing again. On that way, you will have a cleaned FF with a new profile, no leftovers about old profiles.

Ok, I found for you Preferences Cleaner

    Here is the link :http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14131025/FMR/preferences_cleaner-0.3.2-fx.xpi

I've just scanned on virustotal :~VT link removed per Policy~

    Which one ?

If i delete all my profiles, uninstall FF, then install again, i will lose ALL my Privacy/Security etc user settings i've made over the last few years in about:config

Thanx for the Preferences Cleaner link, which unfortunately isn't for my FF version !

    @ KaptainBug

    Hi, see above.

Sorry, I hadn't noticed that the addy I gave was strictly for a review and didn't include a download link. Hopefully the link Ashanta gave in # 28 above is good -- note it's direct to the xpi file, so you might want to start a little closer to their home-page and navigate from there.

I did follow his link to the Mozilla forums discussion, and there seems to be general agreement there that it's essentially abandonware. However, as I'd noted earlier, it seems to still run fine on FF 30.

    CloneRanger,

Use this FEBE addon to backup your private profile.

You will not use your passwords, bookmarks, history. Firefox will retain those information when you reset. Only the Firefox profile, preference and addons will be reset.
Follow this link on how to reset Firefox.

    CloneRanger,

The advantage of FEBE is that you can backup separetely what your really need it to save. You can back up your passwords and bookmarks. Of course, don't tick on your preferences, that's obvious.

Here you have the history versions of FEBE. You can choose version 6.3.3 for FF 3.6 :

    Hi CloneRager,

Either you make a clean FF installation with all your profiles deleted or either, you use FEBE to backup what you exactely need it (bookmarks, paswords) and then, delete yours profiles and do it a clean install. You have 2 ways that are very similars. This is only because you want Calomel working well, don't forget it. If not, you can still use your old FF version as no traces of calomel weren't found it. Let us know what you plan to do and hope this will solve definetly your issue.

Anyway, my recommendation will be also to update your FF version
    .

cant take users for serious who advise outdated versions

FEBE, CLEO and mozbackup are buggy crap - best way is to backup profiles completly
    --> https://googledrive.com/host/0B_b7YCE3Mh_CRXFQSWxfcmhwWGs/ --> Firefox\ -> firesave

If repairing exceeds knowledge and time:
BTW dont let CCleaner work on firefox it will destroy in most cases your profile(s). firefox can do itself perfectly.

if you consider adware try adwcleaner

Sorry, FEBE is not a buggy crap add-ons as you claimed. I've never had any troubles with this add-on, it works perfectly, no adware, no bugs.

    I don't know about the others add-ons.

    @ Ashanta

Hi & Thanx for hanging around. I've been away quite a lot this week, & also busy on other things. So i havn't been able to devote as much time into this as i hoped since my previous posts. Right now HTTPSeverywhere is still uninstalled & Calomel is still reinstalled & my settings are working as i require, it's just that the SSL verification on it isn't ?

So did you manage to clean up the entries? I didn't receive any notifications so I didn't get a chance to respond:
After resetting the preferences, you just need to restart Firefox, and if the addon is uninstalled then the prefs should be gone.

I'd still appreciate some clarification regarding this statement... Details as to why you don't need it anymore? What changes have been made to Firefox to make this the case? And which version of Firefox did this start with?

I like to run a trim setup, and would remove it if I found your statement to be true. But I won't jump the gun until I see something solid/tangible to back it up.
