Went back to ESET+SBIE combo. And disabled SRP...

  2. Back to SRP based setup instead of AppLocker, because it delays less 0.8 secs less when launching IE, see sig

And after some time with a couple of other AVs I'm back to Webroot SecureAnywhere, the Antivirus edition this time. I wish there were a few in-depth tests based on its methods of protection, it's the only AV I've used without that sort of information. But because of how light it is, it's worth going by what others at Wilders have said about it. After all, even Microsoft SE would probably be enough with my computing habits and with Sandboxie and AppGuard installed.

justenough that is a great combo. It's more than enough and it's super strong. I might go back to it if I can get appguard to work for me.

    I'm using:

    Sandboxie
    AppGuard
    ERP
    AdGuard

I run Malawarebytes and HitMan.Pro regularly to check for anything getting through.

I'm using the standard Windows 7 firewall and wonder if it would be beneficial to add SpyShelter Firewall. The cost doesn't bother me per se, I just wonder if I need or would benefit from the extra security.

That's more than enough. Adguard has an awesome malware filter, so you should be set.

Yeah that's what I was beginning to think, it was more than enough and my goal is just enough. So now it's down to Sandboxie and Webroot SecureAnywhere AV.

Good setup @justenough. Just set the heuristics in WSA to warn when any new program executes that is not specifically whitelisted. And you'll have rock solid setup.:thumb:

OK, I just set heuristics like that, thanks for the tip. Any idea if the Web Shield or Identity Shield in WSA 8.0.4.70 need adjusting for Sandboxie 4.12? Since the WSA install the sandbox is automatically deleting contents a lot slower. Not really a problem, and it could be something changed in the new version of Sandboxie that was installed the same day as WSA.

I've thrown Zemana AntiLogger free into the mix.

I don't think it needs adjustment. Just make sure under "running process" in WSA that none of sandboxie process are monitored. Also I would give some though about adding Appguard. It's light and has great policy restriction.

AppGuard seems like a great program but after running it off and on for the last year I have two problems. One is my doing, I am frequently (as in several times a day) adding and removing software, and half the time I forget to put AppGuard on 'Install'. A few times it has been a headache to straighten out, especially with updates. The other problem is that when put on 'Install' the protection level in AppGuard is dropped, and some people run a different security program in order to cover that weakness. So why not just run the second program and make sure it's a good one. Please let me know if you see it differently, I'm not sure about my conclusions on this.

Hi all, any comments on my setup in my sig? Thinking of switching Avira to Panda Cloud Free.

You know, for going AV-less this time around, I would say this security setup is quite the powerful one.

Seriously, it literally works pretty well

    I am running...

Sandboxie + NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro + Adguard Premium + K9 Web Protection

As for On-demand scanners for those just in case moments, I have installed...

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, herdProtect, Avira PC Cleaner

I`m the same regarding the AV. It was akin to towing a tank. As soon as I unhitched it, boom.... my machine took off!:D

Great setup do you still feel the need for UAC ?

Oh yeah, for sure, my system runs pretty smooth without the AV, so I know what you mean :)

Thanks, I think it's a great setup as well.

Maybe not needing it, but I have my UAC set to default.
