    mantra,

If you are using Keepass with Firefox, you can use the Keefox extension. I have been using it for over a year and it auto-types the passwords from your Keepass manager into websites when you visit them.

It is interesting to me that people on a security forum would trust a security app to a company that has proven itself to be untrustworthy. But that's how untrustworthy businesses stay in business.

If you can use Chrome extensions in Opera now, you could look into ChromeIPass, which works with Keepasshttp. The Firefox equivalent is PassIFox, and they will let you use KP with both browsers.

    Lastpass premium here as well.
As soon as PasswordBOx will introduce TFA, I will give it a try.
Used Keepass for long time, but LastPass is much more comfy.

Reading that a third party password manager is the most used I feel ashamed using the inbuilt manager in Opera (Chromium)

I understand the interest of browser extensions for KeePass,
    they make life easier

I used KeeFox for some time and it's a good program
but when I tried the hassle of KeePass on its own I never went back
somehow being forced to create new entries filling all the fields,
and having more steps to auto type logins and generate new passwords,
only made things tastier, as if the passwords were more personal

@mantra give KeePass a go without any extras

I use LastPass Premium. If you don't trust it that is your option, but I have been using it for 3 years without issue. If you insist on using an offline solution, Sticky Password is the best I have used. Not free but worth the money. KeePass is ok but a lot more manual work to use.

Keefox for Firefox is available on Firefox's Addon page. See here. As for security, Keefox can only link with Keepass when the database is open. So you need to open your Keepass database with your password before Keefox can access it. Therefore the security of your password database is the responsibility of KeePass.

No, it won't pass any data back to KeePass. You'll have to manually create new entries in KeePass and then the extension can pass data to the browser.

BTW, I have mine set to not automatically fill the forms, but to require right clicking and selecting "fill user and pass" from the context menu. I had problems with autofill, such as my router's configuration pages getting forms overwritten. Also, by not auto-filling you can enter just the password if needed.

OK. Sorry I misunderstood your earlier post. I do not know anything about PassIFox, others might be able to help you in this regards.

I'm using Dashlane. Think it has by far the best GUI of all password managers, and you can choose to NOT store your password in the cloud, but rather locally like KeePass. Very good product.

    I have been using LastPass for a very long a time, some of the best security features i think that put it above other online solutions are;

    • Offline mode
    • Decryption keys stored locally
    • Allow only logins from your country with time zone
    • Disallow logins from Tor Networks
    • Allow only logins from your computer
    • Allow only logins from your Devices UDID
    • 2 Factor Authentication (albeit common now, but does support other solutions like Toopher and Duo Security, for unrecognized UDID or Computer)
    • Only allow 1 session login at a time (so if you are logged in at home no one else can ever login)
    • Supports Yubikey for premium users
Definitely recommend KeePass as well for a simpler solution

Especially since they are a few blocks from the NSA and CIA? I surely wouldn't...

    Doc, this is just speculation.
Their business model is clear, they make money with the premium subs providing a secure fully encrypted backup of your local data.
I honestly do not see anything wrong with them just because they are few blocks away from the bad guys.
