Sorry to hear this kind of news my friend but I know that real life circumstances are sometimes beyond our control. Family and health always comes first and foremost so I certainly understand and support your decision. I will keep you and your family in thoughts and prayers especially for those long term positive expectations.

For those of us who know how much hard work and dedication you have provided to the security community, you will always be the face and name behind WinPatrol.

This thread is not about me, but I know how this feels, I´m also having health problems at the moment, I hope I will be able to keep on posting in the future. I would like to thank all the posters of Wilders Security for the last 10 years, it was a whole lot of fun.

Me too, I've found it a tool to get a wealth of information when trouble shooting my computer and and a handy little security layer in my computers.

Yes, still use it mainly on demand to check for any changes to my system. Scotty always welcome on my machine!

 

I still have Scotty on the desktop. I've always respected Bill and admired the way he takes care and thinks of WP fans. I wish him the very best. I hope whoever takes over WP will continue Bill's amazing work and keep his goodwill alive.

Personally I'm not concerned with the short term. I don't care if development slows or ceases for awhile, WinPatrol is working fine for me and should continue to do so. In any case, I hope Bill does take the same care for himself that he does for his users. I'm praying also.

 

I hope things work out for Bill(and Rasheed).

Scotty was the original app for the layered approach to security, fond memories of it.

Thanks , right now I´m not really sure how serious it is, perhaps I was being a bit too emotional, also because of the news of Bill, but it did cross my mind that perhaps I don´t have that much time left. Especially also because my father died at quite a young age because of heart disease. It´s best to stay as positive as possible, because it can also become a mental issue.
