Just added a WifiRouter with SPI firewall and changed browser's extension to AdGuard with ADs, antitracking/malware filter.
Otherwise everything as usual, realtime and ondemand nothing. I trust Windows 8 with my hearth, Microsoft should be proud.

    @TOMxEU Nice setup :thumb:
You must be brave if you are not using any on-demand tools to check the system. I'm also thinking about using no real-time AV protection. If I decide to go that way I would probably enable SRP.

Not really, if your AV never detected anything, you basically do not need it. ;)
Only 6GB, I used 2GB from my old notebook. OS uses about 420 MB and games, that could use more than 4GB would not even run, so why not to try it.

only 4 GB on my Intel Q9550/Asus p4q turbo. And rumors has it that in some cases windows runs

BTW, as I have a real-time AV (KAV 2014) .. is it ok to keep MBAM real-time protection active also ?

The main reason I add MBAM is the web protection feature to replace KAV port monitoring feature (disabled) ..

You should be ok if already installed, sometimes KAV will complain when trying to install MBAM

Hi ho, hi ho, back to Appguard I go. Thinking I might be running too much security, thinking of ditching MBAM but its been one of my favourites for many years, hate to see it go, or...may just say to hell with it, run what I got until something breaks, not seeing any slowdowns or anything.

Made the switch yesterday............... after much research and reading, I dumped both AIS and NIS and went with Bitdefender Total Security. With MBAM Pro 1.73 as on-demand scanner. That's it.

I'm now trying out Windows Firewall Control. It's very light and easy to use.:)

  22. Hardened Windows 7 Ultimate with router and NAS
    -
Windows Firewall also blocking outbound connections (GPO)
    - Use full UAC, DEP, SEHOP, ASLR and EMET for scripting programs
    - Set UAC to only elevate executables that are signed and validated (GPO)
    - Block 'write' holes in Windows folder and block execution in user space (SRP)
    - Disabled risk-ware services & features (GPO) and write access to HKCU autoruns (ACL)
    - Running internet facing software with locked group policy settings (NSA security templates)

    Real time protection
    - WSA Gamer (used an old PrevX4 invitation lisence and it worked, running very light :thumb:)

Good Morning! Digmor! Good Move...I also have a lifetime MBAM License...but due to some undetermined bug either with my system or MBAM...I also ditched MBAM...in favour of HMP...but then AppGuard...came along...and ESET S.S.7 and AppGuard...are at the moment running in complete Harmony on my system. Also I've noticed quite a few MBAM users aren't paticularily satisfied with the latest version of MBAM...claiming the infamous Bloat Factor has been introduced into the app. Oh well...Upwards and Onwards...To Infinity and Beyond...Courtesy of Mr Buzz Lightyear...Lol! Sincerely...Securon
