I'm sure, if there is any promotion or offer again, that will only be single PC license.. So I bought one now, while its still multi-PC..

Well, that's a very sad situation what we see in some threads, I think security discussions going rapidly to the wrong direction ..

Security discussions nowadays full of advertisers , intolerants .. etc ... so what ?

Please keep this thread clean , there is many multi-pages threads here, go ahead and complete your ambition there or post your own thread !

    That's my opinion too.

In any case Invincea will have to clarify the situation because at the moment the information they give on the website is contradictory.

One the one hand they write, concerning the one year license and indirectly concerning the lifetime license offered now temporarily (of course not the old ones offered by Tzuk):
    (quoted from here: http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?RegisterSandboxie)

The same is written in the FAQs (http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?FAQ_Licensing):

But on the other hand the End User License Agreement (EULA) says (http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?EndUserLicenseAgreement):

I assume that the License Agreement is the legally binding provision. So my conclusion is: At the moment any license should entitle the owner to use Sandboxie "on any number of computers he owns".

After the remarks of some members in the Sandboxie-Forum chrisc from Invincea admitted that "the Licensing FAQ on the website [...] does not fully and properly reflect what the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) states". Then he quotes the EULA (including the part I quoted above) and writes:
    (see his posting: http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=18878#p100863)

Well, to my mind at present it applies for the one year licenses too (in case I have not overseen something). Because the EULA does not distinct between one year license and (the recent) lifetime license.

Hi Peter123, I think whats important, since there were some doubts regarding lifetime licenses, is that Chris from Invincea was very clear in his post when he said that llifetime licenses obtained from the recent giveaway or though this special offer are under the same terms as the old lifetime licenses. :)

Yes, I think so too, Bo.

In my opinion, Chris' (recent) statement is the logical consequence of the EULA. At the beginning, his position was different and he wrote:

But (as far as I see) this would not be conform with the current EULA (independent of what where the terms for the old lifetime licenses).

And to my mind, it applies for the 1 year licenses too (as long as they do not change the EULA).

Thats because "this doubts", were not only from users but also from Invincea itself. As soon as I saw the response from Chris, the one that you quoted, like Buster and others, I posted in the thread and I also sent a PM to one of the guys at Invincea.

He at that time, asked about what was it that Tzuk promised to us lifetime license holders, after I told him, he assured me that what Tzuk promised is how it is. I then suggested to say something in the thread about whether this new lifetime licenses are one and the same as the old ones and they did (Chris response).

Peter, this guys are OK. And they are flexible. Who would it thought that lifetime licenses were going to be offered again. And now they are available for a few days. I think that's great. I know you like SBIE, I hope you got one of this licenses for yourself.

    Yes, I did. :)

No doubt from my side about it. They only will have to clarify the things about license terms on their website. ;)

Don't know , but as Sandboxie is not the only product Invincea provides right now; maybe the drop of sales description is not the exact situation ..

If you buy the lifetime license it is for all the computers that you personally own. The 1 year license will only be good for one computer at a time. I would buy the lifetime license if I were you.

Sandboxie is the core virtualization of their FreeSpace product. This means that businesses are paying for a product with Sandboxie and other features built in. One advantage of keeping Sandboxie alive for Invincea is that the virutalization part of FreeSpace is tested by thousands of users before being used by business users.

Well, this is kinda weird, since Invincea already launched a product in 2010. So did they decide to ditch their own code, because SBIE´s design was better? Quite interesting.

Sure about that? I thought it was the other way about. Invincea say they share the same core not that it came from SBIE.

They bought SBIE just before Tzuk embarked on version 4. In retrospect this looks to me like version 4 was bringing SBIE in line with FreeSpace not the other way around. Why keep Tzuk working on SBIE for a year making fundamental architecture changes if all you're doing is porting his code to another product? Makes more sense to me that he was bringing his product into line so the FreeSpace developers could take over with familiar architecture.

Otherwise why version 4? An oft asked question in the last year.

    Cheers

Coupon is no longer valid, but it seems that lifetime license is still available for ~43 Euro
