OK so its like 4 years now since I bought this Compaq CQ 41 Laptop.

So far in past year I had to ship the laptop for a CPU chip repair and motherboard repair.

This year I had it shipped because of video chip getting fried.Do you guys think I should now buy another Computer or can I run this laptop for few more years?

Anything after 4 years is borrowed time.

I know what you mean. But I'm lucky with my Dell Inspiron 8600 bought in November 2004. It is still running fine and has never had a hardware issue. Win7 is on it now. The original battery is still OK.

Laptops are so cheap nowadays that buying a new phone will do you better IMO.
As long as you dont do gaming or anything serious there are lots of options out there. Get a new one!

This is the exception, not the norm. Technology is throw away these days unless you buy something high end.

To me it sounds like you have sent it somewhere and got it fixed 3 times, but there's nothing wrong with it now.

So why not use it until it decides to break down again even though that may never happen.
If it does everything you need for what you use it for then why through it away, if it works fine at the moment I mean.

If it works keep it. If it's broken...well yeah don't fix it a 4'th time.

Thats 100% Best Buys fault not Asus. Ive owned 4 Asus laptops, a few motherboards, and a tablet. All in the last 5 years. Every single piece of hardware is still kicking.

Read the latest post. The box says 8.1 while it was only 8.0 on-board.
