I use onedrive for online backups.Onedrive has a folder on each of my computers that if I edit, move or delete a file it syncs to onedrive online account and all computers. My question is if I was to be hit with that cryptovirus,I think its called where it encrypts your files would the onedrive files I have saved online also be encrypted?Im thinkin it wouldn't be but wanted to be sure?

Anything modified on your PC would sync over to OneDrive, cloud sync wouldn't protect you from it.

That's not good.Ive got lots of pictures and files saved to online backup and I would hate for something like that to wipe them all out.

    a few solutions:
you could use a browser to upload your files to Onedrive so they are not synced.
if you don't really need syncing don't use it.

another option is to carry a high capacity USB stick on your keychain.
that's always a good option as it takes little space.

    yeah, just use a browser.
uninstall whatever app or gadget you use for syncing.

use a Local Account instead of a Microsoft account, then use your browser to upload to OneDrive.
by using a Local Account, nothing will get synced.

right Victek, that might just work:

    1. I have just switched back to a Local Account, but not because of OneDrive.
