Uncheck "Allow Acceptable Ads". BTW, AdGuard's acceptable ads is different from ABP's. They only allow search ads through afaik.

Personally I don't like their acceptable ads thing. I mean the idea of acceptable ads is not bad.
But I don't like the way how they make money of it and I don't want to help them.

In this relation what are in fact your (Adguard) acceptable ads? Can you list a few?

I think it is our fault. We will add this link to the "Allow acceptable ads" item in extension settings.

Well, I am suffering from intermittent internet failures today. The carrier is on top of the issue and a resolution should be just a matter of time. Anyway it seems that when you're checking for filters updates and there is no internet connection you don't get any sort of warning that the updates cannot be done. Adguard badges animate for a while and that's all. When internet connection is fine you always get after checking for updates the popup with "Filters updated successfully" and some additional information (No updates found or the updated filters are listed). Therefore it would be nice to be somehow notified that updates failed (from whatever reason).

Would it be possible to move "Check for updates", which is presently below the section Ad Blocker (yes, I know this update check relates to the filters), somewhere to the top of the Settings page (maybe the top right corner would be the best place)? The reason is that on small screens you have to scroll down to reach that "button", so it would be convenient to have it available instantly.

    Just an idea ...

EDIT: This update check button can be also placed on the extension popup. I mean when you click on Adguard extension icon it will trigger a window where below Adguard settings you can add "Check for updates".

Renaming to "Check for FILTER updates" would be more accurate. The current wording may mislead users to think it updates the extension.

Long time ABP user, looking to test this out and see what it can do. Quick question when adding filters is there a way to add complete lists say for instance the way you would go to fanboy's site and download a list which would add directly to ABP?

We'll place it just after "Ad Blocker" header.

This button is not so popular:)
Also popup menu is more about the current web page, not global settings.

    You're right, thank you!

Importing custom filters is in our future plans.
You can import fanboy's rules to a user filter as a file but this solution is not good.

Great! It will be perfectly within reach.

Understood. Behind my idea was the fact that you can see an ad on a webpage but it can be due to outdated filters, so in case we will have "Check for filter updates" available on the popup menu, we could try to update filters and see whether that ad is still unfiltered. There is some degree of probability that updating filters may lead to get rid of that ad. Having this update check button on the popup menu would offer users the handy service and they would not need to come to settings to update filters. Moreover, users with the latest filters installed will less report ads which are in fact already included in your filters. Just to explain but let's forget it. ;)

    You're welcome :)

Any way to possibly add a detection to websites that detect when their ads are blocked? Some websites make you disable adblocker or you cant click anything.

Or possibly adding a feature to disable built in filters on a webpage and just use the manual custom filters on that webpage. Loving the extension so far! Less memory usage than adblock and adblock plus.

    Few questions:
    1. How does Adguard compare to Ghostery and DNT+ in terms of tracking protection?
    2. How does Adguard compare to ABP in terms of tracking protection?
    3. Would I run into any conflicts when running Adguard + Ghostery/DNT+ together?

I have Avast Online Security (don't be fooled by the name, it is actually extension) and Adguard extension. Coupled with Chromium's "DNT" enabled makes me feel comfortable. I think Adguard overshadows Ghostery and DNT. Btw, you can always enable the default DNT in Chrome/Opera.

@avatar said "... soon we'll present an app for Android ...".
Do you have ETA already and which Android browsers are gonna by supported?

I found on your blog in your native language this article but it doesn't answer my questions.

I am going to try it. Just a few questions:

1- if I run Adguard for Windows I guess I do not need the Chrome extension, right?
2- any conflict with AV software?

    Thanks

ad 1 - No. However if you have already installed the extension in Chrome, you don't need it to uninstall before the Windows version installation because the extension detects Windows version and it just does nothing if the work is already done by the Windows version. Also you can still use extension's "Block ad on this page" feature - new rules will be added to the program's.
ad 2 - having Norton Internet Security and no conflict or any other sort of troubles observed

As far as I know you cannot add another language filter. Please see avatar's post #3 in this thread. Nevertheless if you have installed the Chrome extension you can use "Block ad on this page" feature. I don't know what is your preferred language but I have enabled all filters available and almost all ads on the Czech domains are filtered. I have only 5 additional custom rules, so I reckon you should be fine too. ;-)
