    What made you drop Sandboxie?

Firefox locking up and opening yahoo mail would freeze it up. Few months ago I had the same issues. It was fixed and now its doing it again. I posted it over at the forum but haven't gotten any response. I followed what Bo told me to do and it worked. Until opening yahoo mail then caused it to freeze up. Then yesterday random websites would cause it to freeze up as well.

Sounds like a giant PITA to me. You did what you had to do. Good luck.

Hi KJ, try using Yahoo mail basic. Thats how I use Yahoo, I haven't experienced any freezing there. I had issues with Yahoo in the past but not freezing or related to SBIE. They usually go away after a few days.

Freezing problems regarding Firefox running sandboxed are most likely caused by Flash or a conflict with something like a browser addon or web guard. Regarding Flash, I think we talk about that before. If Flash is causing your issue, disabling Flash protected mode its likely to take care of the problem. If the conflict comes from using WSA along SBIE, just disable their web guard or Identity shield for regular browsing and use the feature only when doing banking (out of the sandbox). In the past, Identity Shield has conflicted with SBIE.

Bo thanks for the advice. WSA didn't appear to be conflicting. I actually disabled the Identity shield just to be sure and it didn't make a difference. I'll try disabling the flash protected mode again before moving on. I love sandboxie and have tried to work around it.

I can't believe that I have all these combinations working in perfect unison on Windows 8.0 (screw 8.1) with Zero (Nada) issues.

It's probably why I been having better luck when it comes to compatibility among security programs.

ADDED: (just yesterday) Online Armor Free. I always loved and respected the Firewall alone regardless of the other bells n whistles (run safer, etc.)
I may just upgrade to Pro soon too with this one.

I tried to install PFW but they just won't fix their issues preventing install on Win8. Good for me though, since OA installed and nested itself very nicely without a single hitch.
With Qihoo 360 Security Antivirus + Sandboxie + ShadowDefender + now OnlineArmor it doesn't get any better then this for my expectations.

Throw in PowerTool x64 V1.3 (en) for those Extreme Deep Invader exams of your x64 with AVZ etc. and I don't know what else could possible peak my curiosity aside from a Second Coming of EQSysecure courtesy China which I seriously long to experience that day as a Wish List to myself.

@ EASTER, longtime no see. :)

I found Win 8 also to be quite stable, even with multiple security tools running, it´s probably because they can´t mess around with the kernel. And I see you´re also using File Change Alarm, can you still find it on the web? And does it work correctly on Win 8?

@ Kees, aren´t you taking this Windows security thing too far? Come on, you´re not even posting your security tools anymore. :argh:

It's been a little while :thumb:
I can attest that FileChangeAlarm works exactly as it did on Windows 98 when first introduced and continues to be a great "real-time" directory & file monitor with zero footprint but HUGE logging capabilities as well as alerting to movements on and within individual files n folders :)

No longer cares... If anyone is interested, I slimmed things up compared to what's on PBFSLW. Will remove that section later.

I actually don't know what to say lol. I do read it sometimes when composing combinations. Gonna miss it for sure. What happened BTW?

Just no longer interested in monitoring what's changed. Good to know it helped with viewing compatibility or whatnot.
