PDF Reader Poll (Multiple Choice)

I voted for PDF-XChange Viewer but am currently using the new PDF-XChange Editor (Pro). I own their professional package.

 

Currently using portable PDF-XChange Viewer.

 

I used to use PDF-XC a lot but switched to Adobe when I wasn't sure what was happening with the new version. I've had a look at it but can't seem to see the advantages over Adobe any more. I think I can live with Adobe these days.

 

Right now I'm using Chrome to open PDF files. In past I was also using PDF-XChange and Foxit. Don't remember when was the last time I've used Adobe.

Just given Sumatra a spin after a couple of years or so, it's a keeper!

 

How do you like it? I like it because it's so light, fast and small.

 

I've heard a lot about Sumatra, so I just downloaded it and took a look.

Unfortunately, it doesn't have an "Advanced Search" as far as I can tell.

Adobe's Advanced Search displays all instances of the term, letting me look to see the different uses:



Clicking on any of the results jumps to the page in the document.

Sumatra's search of the same term requires me to go from page to page:



I use the Advanced Search frequently, so Sumatra would be a time waster. Otherwise, a nice program.

Yes, it is light & simple. Plus I can read ePub books with it.

 

Yes unfortunately Sumatra takes the user to the searched term from page to page. I can live with it. For me the benefits outweigh this little inconvenience.

Yes it's great.

 

Very recently changed to Sumatra from Foxit after reading some discouraging words about the latter.

 

Whats so bad about Foxit?

 

Dumped Foxit which I've used for years recently because I hate the whole Open Candy/exciting software deal etc that comes with the installer, trying Nitro. Works OK. Might try PDF exchange after that.

It's been over a month and I'm still impressed with Sumatra.

 

Ended up installing Foxit reader again.

 

Iv been using Foxit Phantom Business Edition for many years now. I see it as a complete replacement for Adobe X . It does everything just as well without without the extra rubbish services like FlexNet licensing service that installs itself everywhere in the system.

i found PDX Xchange was the fastest one.

it is most apparent when scrolling through large documents.

 

I ended up using this one, too. Quick, simple reader with no unnecessary "features".

Does PDF-XChange Viewer facilitate converting any page to a PDF like PDFCreator and Nitro PDF?

 

Pro version has this option. If you want free software with this option, you can use Foxit Reader, which can convert documents to PDF.

But I hate hate hate FoxIt. Used to be good. Then it'd have updates every 3 weeks. Then bundled ad option out ware. Oh & the bloat now it's 20x it's original size.

 

That's why I like PDF-Xchange. It is simple with no bloat. For printing to PDF I use free CutePDF writer.
