Can you perhaps post some screenshots of the main GUI? :)

Also, I personally don´t care about the Universal AV and cloud stuff, only whitelisting is important to me.

Hi cyberlost24, glad to see you back with more questions :)
Yes, you can't find this quote from the website anywhere. But those who join our current beta program and has followed SecureAPlus Beta Forum closely will know the enhancements that were made so far.

Our beta program may be slightly different from other software. For the time being, we will conduct beta program for completely new product features that are going to be introduced to SecureAPlus, that is Universal AV. As this is an extremely new concept, we want to gather as much feedback from the testers as possible in terms of the protection robustness, usability and feasibility. We also use this opportunity to understand the user's security requirements and will fine-tune or add in those features that are feasible and viable. Through this beta program, we hope to make this completely revamped SecureAPlus into a reasonably stable version before launching it to the market officially.

Actually the latest SecureAPlus Freemium v2.0.23 and the beta version have more or less the same features. Sorry, just to correct what I had said in my earlier post. In fact, in the latest freemium version, there is also significant improvement in the initial whitelisting performance and it is slightly more advanced than the beta version as it skips some of the hash calculation for non-executable files. Hence, the performance should be even better than the latest beta release.

We have taken this suggestion into consideration but we need to weigh it against the business viability. Our final decision will be announced before the market launch of the new SecureAPlus.

You are most welcome to ask more questions :)

    Hi Rasheed187,
The main GUI of current SecureAPlus Freemium is still the old version. We are in the midst of designing the main console but we hope to be able to share partial design mockup each week to get feedback.

Here's one of the screenshot of the existing GUI which will be completely changed.

Just curious. Why do you don't care about the cloud stuff?

Nice to know, I don´t like the current GUI, that´s why I asked.

You know what the thing is, most of the members of this forum are quite computer savvy, and are already using other solutions. So the cloud AV stuff should be optional, IMO. :)

You can see some of our GUI design mockup at the following posts and let me know which concept do you like.

Fully understand. We may consider your suggestion of making Universal AV optional :)

To be honest, I've uninstalled the beta and gone back to the last 'original' version....I don't like or use AV's, I prefer the multi layer approach...I hope the final version does have an opt out...Don't mind it being part of the package when it is final if it has an option to turn the AV components off.

I like this GUI. Also the very first GUI was great too. Perhaps a combination of both would be great. By this I mean, instead of having pull-down menu to choose options, maybe you should use the first GUI way of straight without a pull down menu.

I mean most users just go with the default and do not click on pull-down menus.

By the way I can not wait to try the final version.
    :)

I decided to run a test on the latest beta and man it is still no better then the non-beta. Nesds lots of improvements.

    Some are:
    1. The clam Av is still one of the worse AVs out there and did not detect any of my tested malwares. While these malwares had high detection rates in virustotal.

    2. The universal AV needs option for manual uploading of files or right-clicking and choosing. Also it should send to the cloud multi-AVs every un-safe or unknown or anything the whitelisting pops up. If the universal Av worked as I mentioned then those malwares should have been detected.

    3. The antivirus scanning is still very slow and takes a very long time to complete a full scan. Needs speeding up.

    4. The GUI was not different then the non-beta.

On the positive side, the wahitelisting works great and the warning popped-up for every malware exe I tried to ran under lock-down mode.

Also the fast option of initial scan was faster then before.

    To sinlam:

I have made a post at secureaplus forum under beta testing and posted all of these and the virustotal links to the malwares I tested it

I would also like to have each module opted for installation.

Yes, the final version definitely has the opt out for the local av client ;)

    Thanks for your comment :)

Good news is we have already dropped the pull-down menu idea :)

    That's great :thumb:

We plan to provide two options for the installation: 1) local AV installation 2) enable Universal AV. As of now, application whitelisting will be the core component that has to be installed.

    What do you think?

Option 2 would be ideal, although as I said I would be unlikely to install the AV components it would surely be easier for you to update and improve a 'single' version.....Anyway, I look forward to the RC\final version and at last see you earning some well deserved income from this brilliant software.

I think instead of using a 3rd party av, secureaplus should get rid of clamav and instead use the same method Hitman pro does. Make a manual sca option with quick and full PC scan and send to its cloud those files that are unknown for ID. Thats what Hitman pro does.

I want them to make a freeware of just the whitelisting part of the app nothing more that would be great :D

Either this or some kind of integration with Windows Defender. Windows comes by default with an AV better than ClamAV so there is no point to use Clam AV in SecureAplus. You may be giving the people the feeling that they are well protected while ClamAV by quite far the worst AV in the market.

Some other users like you will also prefer not to install the av. That is why we have option 1 to give users more flexibility ;)

Yes, we definitely need that after all the hard work :) Our greatest payoff will be a tremendous increase in user base and users think favorably of SecureAPlus.

In terms of business viablity, it may not be freeware. We will still have the freemium version that comes with 1 year free license and join the referral program to extend the license. The way to get a free perpetual license is to join our beta program and be an active tester :)
