The link did not work. The working link is hard to find. Once found, you need to click the LIKE button and enter First, Last and e-mail to receive the Product Key. That is fair enough, but the Submit button does not seem to work.

Too bad if you don't use Facebook.

    Edit:
SharewareOnSale.com and MalwareTips.com have links to it too.

too bad this is still broke since 2010 version

Automatic BCD Update. Unmark the checkbox to suppress automatic update of BCD (Boot Configuration Data) after copy/restore operations.

The link you posted goes to Backup & Recovery 14 Home.

I was about to ask how the Compact edition differs to Backup & Recovery 2014 Free.

Too many versions. Too much confusion.

I guess my post right above yours wasn't clear enough so I'll repeat. Paragon has removed the link since the offer is over. The link used to show the complete comparison.

You're right. It wasn't clear enough as I didn't see it.
It seems like Paragon have wiped every reference to the Compact edition from their site. I can't find a comparison anywhere.
My guess is that it is not too different from Home.

The last time they had a COMPACT giveaway in November 2013, the only thing that was really missing was the "Paragon Boot Media Builder" which helped build a WinPE for you. It still had the LINUX/DOS media creation ability though.

If anybody's looking for the COMPACT installers (x86 and x64), I have them both.

Do you know which versions come with or support Paragon Recovery Media Builder?

From what I saw, HOME definitely has it and you no longer need to download the entire WADK from MicroSloth to use it.

    Thanks.
From what I read here, there are two different media builder add-on types.
    - Recovery Media Builder
    - Boot Media Builder

It appears from what I have read that Recovery Media Builder is the better option for Windows 7 and higher.

Stigg... both builders support W7 and beyond very well. The RECOVERY MEDIA Builder does not require the multi-gigabyte download of either WAIK or WADK from MicroSloth... it downloads just what it needs to produce the BOOT environment for Paragon (about 300mB of data). BUT... it cannot make a bootable CD/DVD/BD, it doesn't support it. And it doesn't support networking from the bootable environment (in case you are saving things to NAS drives or networked shares) or adding additional needed drivers. It can only produce UFDs (BOOTable flash drive) and ISO files (which you can always BURN to a CD/DVD/BD).

The BOOT MEDIA Builder can produce any bootable environment but it requires that huge download from M$. (see the comparison below)

So last week after reading this I went in and unchecked this in the paid 2012 version. It seems to take longer to initiate imaging but other than that everything seems the same. Is this an issue with backup or restore and should I keep it unchecked? I use it often to backup but rarely to recover since the advent of AX64 but it has always been a solid performer for me. Thank you!

Let the "Update BCD" option checked. If you don´t have problems when you boot after a restore, don´t worry about it.

I will stick with IFW and Macrium Pro, Glad Sales refunded my money..
I dual boot windows, I don't need it to update and try to change my BCD's on other partitions.
BootIT Bare metal is awsome to work with.

I was just wondering if it has been fixed,.
It's been broken since 2009Pro edition..
