    Dear Mohamed,

That's a great name! Now I'm thinking of choosing between the two - TurboRestore and SnapRestore. The downside is that both terms seem to be in use by other backup programs. I'm not sure how big problem it is, need to find out...

    Hello,

Here's a bit different combination of the two - TurboSnap ...

The British Sky Broadcasting is called, BSkyB.

Microsoft just lost their case for copyright for SkyDrive upto the appellate court in UK for using the word, "Sky" in SkyDrive. Now they have to change the name of SkyDrive, and this could cost them in millions.

Just for info. So, it seems no one can use the word, "Sky" in their products. This is stupid in my opinion.

    Best regards,

Oh good grief already, this is getting kind of silly and I do sincerely hope this idea of mine is not equally as silly, if it is then mud in my face. :doubt: How about a contest, on another thread somewhere, ANYWHERE other than this thread, and then we can all vote. The winner gets 1, or some other arbitrary figure, to a free license to this program.

I dunno, just another crazy idea of mine.

    Kent,

Thank you, I think this could be a perfect name for the fast backup operation, what do you think?

I agree, that's a nonsense. Considering the tiny size of our business it's not a problem to change the name if needed. Anyway it would be nice to have a name that is free.

    Acadia,

That's a fantastic idea actually, thank you! I'll try to find some time and setup a poll. If someone knows how to do it with minimum effort please let me know (I mean some website that allows to easily do polls/contests).

Whilst it is a free for all I will suggest 'SnapBack' & 'FullBack' (the later despite its footballing connotations) :D

Thanks Baldrick, I like those! Although considering that you can also snap forward it might not fully reflect the operation.

Yes, sorry about it - the hoster has some troubles and the site periodically goes down. I hope they'll resolve it soon.

    Hi Isso,

While I'm a dyed-in-the-wool PC guy, my daughter recently bought a MacBook Pro and while trying its own Disk Utility and a few 3rd-party apps to create an image-backup of her 'Macintosh' (HFS+) partitions I realized that user-friendly image-backup apps for the Mac are few and far between (not to mention 'snapshot' apps). I believe that the Mac market is a great opportunity for you and AX64!

    Regards,
    Cruise

(...as the imitation VP of Sales LEAPS to his assigned agenda)

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to a new product just now making its way into the backup and imaging marketplace. Produced by the elite software development team of AX64 LLC, I would like to introduce you to the AX64 TIME MACHINE.

This is not just your father or mother's imaging/backup application, it's based on a brand new imaging technology known as HyperStor. When used under a LIVE Windows operating system, HyperStor allows the user to traverse a time line in either direction, eventually arriving at your backup snapshot of choice. And believe me, the arrival time of this HyperStor train will rock your socks.

If your system is unBOOTable or broken, HyperStor, in it's off-line mode, will provide the very same capability, albeit at a slightly slower rate, to completely restore your system to your backup snapshot of choice. The off-line HyperStore recovery mode is extremely competitive with other applications in this marketplace, but the on-line or LIVE HyperStor capability is what makes this product outstanding.

Along with its simple to use User Interface, AXTM TIME MACHINE is the most unique solution available to this particular marketplace.

    Buy IT!!

(OK, Boss... that's the best I can do at the moment.)

OK, can I ask a few questions while I am trying to get this to work on my XP system(s)? Well, I will anyway. ;)

First, it would sure be nice if the help/info sheets were available from the main screen. I can only get there with a Google search.

    1. Can a full backup image be password protected?

    2. If I do a "Make Backup" on my own...no auto backup selected (yet) is it also a FULL Image? If not, how can I make full images?

    3. I have had other software say the backup is good, only to do a verify and see it is bad. Can we do a verify?

    4. Finally, can an auto backup of 1 hour be changed to a different time and can it be saved to the main drive C:?

I ask as we are running RAID1 and a single drive failure would not matter, but it does not, of course, protect against a file being messed up as it is worked on.

Thank you all and especially to ISSO who is waiting for me to work out XP "issues" I have.

    ...and this one's a riot.

I thought maybe... HyperRestore. Then I find out that this is a patented Foreskin Restoration System (yes, exactly what it sounds like).

I'm not sure the Boss is in that business.. continuing on.

Another name could also be DeltaRestore.
Advanced users will understand right away that restores the differences only.
And it could be used also as advertising. "The first imaging app that is capable to perform delta restores on a sector level.":)
