From my understanding, this is to limit abuse from those scanning a number of systems with one license.

How many full scans did you run?

I dont think I over do the scans.. but then again I cant remember the license saying I cant scan my machine as much as I want too!!

I bought a 4 license family pack and after finally rebuilding all the machines I have got the licenses installed now to the correct machines in the correct way

If this is going to be a limiting factor then I may have to look at another product as I do store temp images of other machines whilst I repair them... but this is normally as just an image file acronis or ghost!

    Hello,
This is just meant to prevent wide-scale abuse on our systems and we're more than happy to clear this error when it happens in legitimate use. Since implementing this warning, we've only seen around 5 users exceed the threshold in normal use.

If you could please PM me your license key, I'll get it extended ASAP :)

Definitely - to save on resources in the cloud database, we will cut off scans if they reach an excessive number of files (the number of scans doesn't matter but the volume of files scanned is what we are concerned with).

It really is extremely rare but we've seen it sometimes on users with software-level imaging software that keeps a copy of every file on the local system when backing it up or on users with multiboot systems that have many OS installations on the same PC.

The warning will only ever occur from a full system scan by a licensed user and it is primarily in place to prevent abuse from some services we've come across in the past that just try and use Prevx behind the scenes to scan files illegitimately. Our systems are extremely scalable but it is of no use to anyone to have one user taking up the resources of 5,000 users (which is what we've seen :doubt: )

So, these limits are in place primarily as just a deterrent against automated "attacks" but we're always willing to bend for real users :)
