Recently my daughter was very quick to click a link her friend had sent on msn which resulted in a very evil virus . It appears to have created twin accounts using the same names but with load of numbers added on and in the startup folder there is a file zuyt.exe and iqpya.exe. I cant run any virus scans or load up any programs as the desktop is completely blank, just blue screen even in safe mode yet task manager works but still cannot do anything as it appears all permissions have been removed. Has anyone an idea how i can at least get the explorer.exe function to work so i can begin to rid of this unfortunate little thing.
Welcome Mr.Noob. This a pre-installed <Dell, HP?? - XP, Vista, 7??> system that came included with a recovery partition?
Besides what GlobalForce just mentioned, you may try to download rescue CDs: http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk/all?qid=208282173 http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=16602
Another Rescue cd which might do the job: Avira AntiVir Rescue System. (Avira has very high detection rate.)
