    Zonealarm is an statful inspection firewall but can't it be as well a packet filter firewallo_O Double the protectiono_O

    Wat is Statefull inspection firewall and wat is packet filter firewall just intrested?

    It is both. It is not a matter of double protection, but more of how much it can be configured. Rule based firewalls is packet filtering that allows users more defined control over what will be permitted and denied.

    example:

    ZA Free:
    When you permit your browser outbound access it is to any remote port.

    ZA Pro or rule based firewall:
    When you permit your browser outbound access you can define remote port 80(HTTP), 443(HTTPS)

    Both are packet filtering, just not to the same degree.
