God the next person that points that out as a rating I'm going to hunt down. There has been so many threads on this subject. Matousec is NOT a firewall test. It test hips and a sorry excuse for testing hips at that.

last year they've had 2 good promotions
one was the firewall full version for free which is very good in deed especially this last updated one is really light in my laptop.
the second was a really cheap SECURITY SUITE 3 license sale for 24 hours . I bought it and still using.
I hope it is the EXTREME for a cheap price as i really liked the ZA soft through this year while i had it despite some problems i had with the update and scanning process through that time.
wait and see what they will bring

I think it will be a 10$ (9.99) offer for the Security suite, like it was last year. I just hope this time they give the Exterme security for that price or something under 20$.

    .
That brings up a good question which is does anyone properly test personal firewalls and what would that test consist of?

Gibson's ShieldsUP! has been around for a long time, and it certainly tests the basics. As maligned as the author is (in some circles), I don't think there is fault to be found with the test itself. :)

I already receive my license key.Yes,it's ZA pro license one year for 3 pc.

Btw,anyone knows what happens after the key expires? The software will remain fully functional but no more updates, like OA pro and Outpost pro?

On the page here near the bottom

    http://promotions.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/cdn/pt/index.htm

it states †After your first year, you will be charged $4.99/month unless you call to cancel. You may call to cancel your membership at any time.

I presume that that applies to the Identity Guard which is valid for US residents only?

so the proverbial question in these situations needs to be asked once again! Does anyone know if this needs installed and the license activated within this time frame (24/48 hours or whatever)? My gut instinct on this one tells me we have a year to install. Hope I'm correct!

Well, no... you've misunderstood it. That info is required only for the "Identity Guard" giveaway... (for US residents only). For ZA Pro, you give just name and email.

Well, the Identity Guard thing is a nice WTH though... you protect your identity by giving it out to a third-party? LOLz.

Well... I still feel safer by not giving such info out to anyone unless required? What's the point of this SW kinda avades me?
