    Hello.

It seems out computer has the yuhmee.com problem. It sure makes navagating the web a keyboard pounding frustration while you wait for ^@$&!! yuhmee.com's server thing to 'resolve host' so you can actually do what you went on the net to do.

We have an up-to-date Adaware program and recently ran the program and got rid of a few things.
We also did spybot search and destroy and also quarentined about 9 things it identified.

I also have a couple questions
We run both IE and Netscape, did HijackThis scan both or just IE? Netscape seems to be the one with the major problem as I can see the 'connecting to yuhmee.com' text on the lower left hand side. IE does not show such things beyone connecting to the place we are trying to connnect to, but seems to be running slow all the same.
What can be done to prevent things like this happening again after we fix the problem?
I am also suspicious about this 'transferring data from us.i1.yimg.com I see on Netscape's lower left toolbar thing. A friend of yuhmee?
In the HijackThis log Im about to post, I see there are a few porn site things. Do those get snuck on your system without going to such places, or do I need to have a talk with the household? hehe

Thanks in advance for your kind help!

    Hi 2:40 Gordie,

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{A045DC85-FC44-45be-8A50-E4F9C62C9A84} - (no file)

All the O1 - Hosts: entries

    O2 - BHO: Clear Search - {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000240} - C:\Program Files\ClearSearch\IE_ClrSch.DLL (file missing)

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [reload] C:\WINDOWS\reload.vbs

    O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/27d397ca2465adbd4603/netzip/RdxIE601.cab

    O16 - DPF: {F5192746-22D6-41BD-9D2D-1E75D14FBD3C} - http://download.rfwnad.com/cab/crack.CAB

    Then reboot.
    Can you find C:\WINDOWS\reload.vbs
and have it checked at http://www.kaspersky.com/remoteviruschk.html
The filename would indicate that this is a 4 year old virus

    Regards,

    Pieter

Thanks for the help. I shall go do what you instructed.

the .vbs thing I did notice. I know the harddrive I'm using from my parents in lieu of the one that crashed last month did have .vbs on it a couple years ago but I thought it was all fixed!!! I thought maybe it was just what was left over from being fixed.

Thanks for the heads up! I will let you know how things go after I do the HijackThis fix.

    Gord

    Hi 2:40 Gordie,

It could be that in the clean-up of that hard drive you are using that the actual file was deleted but the start-up entry remained. As long as you not having any problems, I would say you are OK.

You might want to try an on-line virus scan to be sure. Some good online scans can be found HERE.

    HTH.....

    Regards,
    Kent
