YouTube now defaults to HTML5 <video>

    In Chrome, I have seen a couple of videos with 1080p

    FYI. Why you can’t play 1080p or 480p YouTube HTML5 videos in Firefox anymore.

    Tempted to try the beta out then. Haven't messed with Firefox betas in a while.

    Finally! This is music to my ears. I have been waiting for the day when Youtube defaults to HTML5.

    Even if HTML5 is not defaulted in Firefox and its forks it'll be switched to using it if Flash isn't installed/activated. I don't see the big deal about it personally.

    60fps is overrated. 4k is overrated. Only condition where 60fps would make a matter is in gaming footages, but even @30fps most of them are still fine to watch IMO.

    Noticed that a long time ago using Chrome. Haven't seen a flash YouTube video for over a year.

    Good gawd we can't run from our Adobe-destiny?! :eek:

    This is imperialism! I'll pick the limited video resolution choices over having to touch Adobe's Flash Player again. If they ever disallowed me to watch anything without using the crap they define, I have ways to go around it.
