    Honestly I loved 2.5 or 2.7 :)

Not to knock anyone on the current v4, just in it's day when I first discovered NOD32 I felt like I found a jewel, and ditched Norton very quickly.. I got 2.7 on my laptop right now :)

    I miss the old GUI

    2.7
Light, direct "no thrills" control center, and didn't seem to mess up.

    2.7 all the way.

To me it's still the best. It never bothered me that the GUI was "confusing" to a lot of the users, I was ok with that. lol

It's still the version I use on any computer/server that is important and it is what I install on clients computers and networks.

2.7 is what made me want to be a reseller in the first place. I ditched all other AV's I was a reseller for when I found it.

I'm scanning network shares with 2.7 right now... Seems a lot faster scanning than v4 did.. Plus this laptop is magically not bsod'ing anymore lol..

Yep, 2.7 every time. It reminded me of the old Dr. Solomon.s I used to have years ago, simple and effective (before McAfee took it over and made a pigs ear of it).

Of course I'm not saying NOD has gone the way of Dr. Solomon's, but V4 and V3 doesn't stand out from the crowd in the way 2.7 did IMHO.

2.7 i consider it ahead of it's time when it was launched, both detection and system impact.

    Long live 2.7

I still use it on my older computers rather than v4.

I too love and still use 2.7.

I remember upgrading to 3 and being extremely disappointed that the GUI had become almost 'Nortonised'! I like the old, rugged look of 2.7 and it just seems to run way faster and never ever crashes on me.

I haven't even tried testing v4 but I'm thinking about upgrading to Smart Security Suite as I want an all in one firewall and a/v, does anyone know if it's possible to run v.2.7 of the a/v with the Security Suite? I doubt it but I'm hoping.

Nope but with the firewall problems at the moment I'd wait for the next build of v4.

I really like the GUI of version 4 although I'm a little sentimental to version 2.7
since it was the first AV I used after switching from Norton.
    Overall, I pick version 4.

Damn, that's a shame (wishful thinking, I know). Oh great, the latest Security Suite release has firewall problems, grrr just when I thought I was ready for a switch.

    2.7 for nostalgia.

But ESS 4......... could be a contender for the title.... one day.

I really like v2.7 a lot as it is super light and offers no nonsense AV protection but v4 adds more functionalities. I am currently using v4 with no problems encountered at all.
I also agreed that the GUI had become almost 'Nortonised' since v3.
Hope to have the option to choose between the 'Nortonised' version and the classic v2.7 version.
