    first of all...
    sorry for the bad grammar...
English is not my mother tongue...

    about my problem...
Some weird application running on my PC...
i don't know if it's legitimate process or harming one...
i hope you can help me.

the last two times i turned off my PC there was a pop up window that said:
    "Ending program..."
    and the program was...
"You Should Not See ME" (!)

when i tried to google this words i saw several opinions...
some of them says its a harming process and some of the says its a windows normal process...

can someone pleeease shed some light on this issue?

    what is it?
do i need to be panic about it?
is it a hacker program or something?

any help will be much appreciated!!!
    Thanks.

Hello run SuperAntispyware free and AVG antispyware free scans in safe mode( update before scan). Did u scanned ur PC with ur updated Antvirus( i suppose u have one)?

Also search for "You Should Not See ME" via windows built in search and see what it finds!

Also download Autoruns, run it, then go to Options and check the options of Hide Microsoft enteries and Verify Code signature, then rerun it and post the log here( File> Save as).

I can,t help you more than this. Infact u need to post Hijack this log on some forums( Wilders no longer offers this facility)!

    Runbox: %systemroot%\system32

Rt clk the msi.dll file inside, open properties. Which version's does it state?

Try to include this information when asking for help, make's life easier for all of us. ;) I see you've had problem's since starting this thread. Guess you haven't reinstalled then? I would, before any system upgrades, run this in an attempt to resolve your problem. *Hold off on this for the time being. ;)

Let us know if you routinely run a registry cleaner. AO commented on possible corruption.

about the last thread - it ended as a disaster...!
i reinstalled the whole system with a new operation system.
the old one was corrupted so nothing would help...
right now i'm running new OS and it runs great!

i often (twice a weak to be exact) running XoftSpy and NOD on-demand scanner.

Thanks again for the great help!

I was expecting a version number similar to what's in the picture below.

    wininst_version.gif

Does "you should not see me" continue to show during shutdown's?
Would you know how to take a screenshot should I request one?

    ========================

Have you recently added any new hardware, a video card perhap's?
Which language is this, Hebrew with an alef on the end?

    which_language.png

    Try to answer all question's.

After installing Windows Installer 3 from microsoft there's no more "You Should Not See Me" pop-ups during shutdown...
    guess that was the thing...

    Here's the version now:
    http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/4271/h1so7.jpg

    Yes...
it started after i installed some driver that supposed to activate specific program.
now i'm sure never gonna install it again!
    me and my stupid ideas...

i guess i just got panic because of this weird, not related to anything, combination of words "You Should Not See Me"...

    you've been very much helpful!
    thank you for that!

    yeah...
    it's Hebrew...
with an alef on the beginning (Hebrew from right to left)...
someone need to speek this language...

*I've seen your new version of - 3.1.4000.4039.

Good to see there are some of us willing to take the initiative and good to hear it worked out for the best. I had read several more thread's discussing that message, nothing definitive; window's installer, installshield, or any number of hardware related driver's, namely video.

Here's an excellent thread created by GroverH that should help localize any future screenshot's.

Next time trouble strikes, stay calm .... cool head's prevail. ;)
