Yellow Shield with ! in middle

Presently my IBM is downloading something...right click/left click do not show properties etc.
Only the YELLOW SHIELD with ! icon.
"Downloading updates 73 %"
An hour or so ago it was 60 %.
I have run a full NORTON Ad-Aware and ewido scan...they have not identified this.
Should I be worried?
Can someone help?

Is that icon is in your system tray? --- it's likely a M$ update. ... Can you post a screenshot of the icon?

 

I had this the other week. It was downloading the Windows Notification Option or whatever its called. Once done I said dont tell me about this again and was ok

 

From what you have described, it does seems like a Windows Update tray icon. Perhaps you can use your firewall or "netstat -b" to see the active connection. See whether there is any connection to Microsoft/Windows Update site.
