    Re: got hijacked by sexcam

I too have been hijacked by sexcam. Help! It's driving me crazy, besides the fact that I can't turn my computer on if my 5 year old is in the room because the sexcam startup screen opens immediately on my computer!

I tried to follow the advice to the previous person, but I didn't see the same files in my log, although my sexcam does say 123268.exe when I get info on it.

Here's my log - any help greatly appreciated:

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Delete these files

    C:\WINNT\system32\Apimonx.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\windrvx.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\fld.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\G321AL5F.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\BKC1WCB7.exe
    C:\WINNT\system32\U6NRX.exe

    and Delete these folders

    C:\PROGRAM FILES\TESTBY~1\<<<<<<<the folder that contains SoapDraw.exe
C:\PROGRAM FILES\DUPEMU~1\<<<<<<<< the folder that contains Knob Eq.dll
    C:\Program Files\AutoUpdate
    C:\WINNT\mslagent
    C:\Program Files\SysAI\

    then
    Reboot normally &

Run an online antivirus check from at least one and preferably 2 of the following sites
    http://security.symantec.com/default.asp?
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/
    http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/
    http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/

Download and unzip or install these programs/applications if you haven't already got them. If you have them, then make sure they are updated and configured as described

    Spybot - Search & Destroy from http://security.kolla.de
    AdAware 6 from http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download

    Run Sybot S&D

After installing, first press Online, press search for updates, then tick the updates it finds, then press download updates. Beside the download button is a little down pointed arrow, select one of the servers listed. If it doesn't work or you get an error message then try a different server

Next, close all Internet Explorer and OE windows, press 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds that is marked in RED.

    then reboot &

    Run ADAWARE

Before you scan with AdAware, check for updates of the reference file by using the "webupdate".
the current ref file should read at least 01R299 22.04.2004 or a higher number/later date

    Then ........

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------"ON=GREEN"
From main window :Click "Start" then " Activate in-depth scan"

    then......

click "Use custom scanning options>Customize" and have these options on: "Scan within archives" ,"Scan active processes","Scan registry", "Deep scan registry" ,"Scan my IE Favorites for banned URL" and "Scan my host-files"

    then.........

go to settings(the gear on top of AdAware)>Tweak>Scanning engine and tick "Unload recognized processes during scanning" ...........then........"Cleaning engine" and "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot"

then...... click "proceed" to save your settings.

Now to scan it´s just to click the "Scan" button.

When scan is finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose"select all" from the drop down menu) then press next and then say yes to the prompt, do you want to remove all these entries.

    reboot again

Now I don't see any running antivirus, that is a bit like standing in downtown Baghdad stark naked with a bulls eye on your chest waving an American Flag. Definitely not recommended

Download and install & run an antivirus immediately

    lists here
    http://www.wilders.org/anti_viruses.htm

one free one that many users of this forum use successfully is
    AVG from http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

then post a new hijackthis log to check what is left

    Re: got hijacked by sexcam

    My antivirus stopped this one

    Apimonx.exe - Win32/TrojanDownloader.Tibser.A trojan

I'm checking the saiemod.dll at the moment and will let you know what that one is but I'm 99% conviinced it's a new version of Ncase 180% parasite. It's definitely distributed by them
    this is the others

file attachment: windrvx.exe The file attached to this email was removed because it is infected with the Downloader.Trojan virus.
fld.exe The file attached to this email was removed because it is infected with the Downloader.Trojan virus.
    G321AL5F.exe - probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus
    tds detects as web downloader

file attachment: BKC1WCB7.exe The file attached to this email was removed because it is infected with the Trojan Horse virus.

The rest we are still checking

Edit: this just came back from NOD

The file "saiemod.dll" is IE Browser Helper Object (BHO) with ability to
redirect you to some sponsors websites. This BHO object can automatically
    update itself without your knowledge.

The file "U6NRX.exe" seems to be suspicious, because it's trying to connect
yahoo server and exchange some informations.

Thank you so much for your help! I'm still working on this - I've deleted files and I'm up to the part where you said to run an online anti-virus check. I feel like I'm getting close to reclaiming my computer!

And yes, I need to install an antivirus - god forbid I'm caught in Baghdad waving an American flag. I just got this computer a week ago, and hadn't had a chance to do that yet. Didn't realize how much I should have done that first! Will keep you posted....
