True but at the same time it's worth to loose money in order not to be left behind in the market. Just look at Amazon. I have invested so much into them already that I may just buy their Fire tablet just because I like their movie/music business model, the hassle free renting and buying for movies and music and ability to play those on most devices.

I agree. But I hope you did not miss my previous post. Microsoft and Mozilla have partnered before to offer Firefox with Bing.

This partnership between Yahoo and Mozilla may seem more extensive but bear in mind that Yahoo Search is powered by Bing thanks to a deal made in 2009.

I didn't miss it. My point is not only about competing with Google but also brand name. Firefox has a huge user base, slamming Bing on would be much better off than putting Yahoo.

    From the source -

Find it Faster: The New Search Interface in Firefox

[ animated gif and screenshots in mozilla post] This is coming out in Firefox 34.0. Mozilla will also be releasing a Fx 34.0.5 for the changeover to Yahoo Default search engine for en-US locales.

The "animations and so on" source is Mozilla's blog post.

The switch to Yandex for Belarusian, Kazakh, and Russian locales is planned for Fx 34.0
    --------------
Seeing a nice donations request in first run of 34.0.5 RC .zip

I should've read this more carefully,

"Firefox will now have more choice in search provider than any other browser, with 61 search providers pre-installed in Firefox across 88 different language versions."

Still just has 7 in my English language version. DuckDuckGo was added and eBay was dropped.

The good news is Yahoo now supports Do Not Track, as does DuckDuckGo.
