As long as it is at the same SP level and Pro to Pro or Home to Home, yes. Product keys can be tied to some OEM disks, but in general from my own experience, pro will fix pro, home will fix home. I have done it many times, only the service pack differences ever gave problems.

    Hi Sul,

Thanks! I think I can match versions, but mine is M$ XP While the other is OEM.

    Thanks

From my experience, if you don't have to input the product key again, retail vs OEM should not interfere. It is the product key that differs on some OEM versions vs retail versions.

    Thanks Sul!

My problem was with a friends computer, Sophos deleted <root kit>, the file dpcdll.dll which caused windows to be unable to accurately check the license, I copied the file from a working XP & all is well. Got lucky this time

    Take Care
