Came across this website recently: http://xpautopatcher.com/

It's a utility/program that contains all Windows XP updates post-SP1 (you must have SP1 for it to install), and that includes critical and non-critical updates, as well as some tweakers. They have separate versions for XP, 2000, and 2K3, and you must have the appropriate service pack for it to work.

They release two versions every month: (a) an update version that contains all the updates for that month, and requires the previous install to work (b) a full version that contains everything including the kitchen sink. I've not tried it myself, and won't in the near future since I'm already fully patched, but it would be useful in case of a reformat or security issue mandating one, or even a new install. And you can judge the performance yourself at Neowin: they host the Autopatcher discussions, including a separate thread on the December release (4.2): here's the link,

    http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showforum=89

Hope this was useful, and doesn't duplicate previous knowledge or discussion of the utility.....

I'm happy to hear of this, provided it doesn't scan your hard disk, go through your wallet. look in your wardrobe and write to your bank manager, like Windows Update always seems to. :)
