    Good question.

Whatever it is, all I know is that browsing with my Opera browser, has turned into a slug, since I upgraded to v8.0.1.203. I wonder why.

I think it's a XP issue as I have no problems on Win 7 x64 and Opera 12 works great now with the fix for Java/Flash! IMO. But contact support again if you continue to have problems!

Yes...it could be just in XP, but I have noticed that clicking on a link to load new page or go to the next page is slow. Makes me want to load another of my snapshots, that doesn't run WSA, to get some snappiness back when browsing.

BTW, what exactly was the "Java/Flash" fix, since I don't know what was wrong with it to begin with?

I know with introduction of the 'opera_plugin_wrapper' with Opera Next, this perhaps was involved? Just speculating.

Also, what can support do for me, since I don't know if WSA is the problem or not?

    Edit: for corrections

Thanks, TH...I have just booted into another snapshot, and saw the above post by Joe in the thread that you referenced.

Perhaps, the fix has introduced gremlins, in my system. :D

BTW, when I load my Opera browser, I get this when checking with Process Explorer. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

I don't have that but what version are you using? As I said above I'm using Opera 12!

    So, am I!

But, I notice that 'opera_plugin_in_wrapper.exe', the child process, comes and goes, as per my screenshot.

Not sure if its a graphical issue or otherwise but with 64 bit (maybe 32 bit too) Opera the padlock appears even on HTTP sites even though protection levels are at default. Is anyone else seeing this too?

That's now the correct behavior - Opera has changed how they store information in the browser so we just protect all pages now.

Now I see opera_pluginin_wrapper.exe I never did last night and it doesn't ask the Firewall for access to the net.

After reading this - Opera Plugin Wrapper, I am not sure whether it is a real improvement.

    I might stick with Opera 11.64. ;)

Thanks and yes I agree Both Opera processes go very high in memory but my processor is about 2 to 3% it's OK for me as I have lots of Processor power and 16GB of memory and viewing a video does make opera_pluginin_wrapper.exe ask for Internet access! :(

I once used Opera, in fact I paid for it. Those were the days, just a few dozen happy fans, now I believe Opera has hundreds of users.

RE System Tools/Clean Up/Last Cleanup: 20 Days ago. This after just running it yesterday, now this area is growing exponentially every day! New glitch in this version, is WSA aware?

Could you try running it and then shutting down/starting up WSA from the tray icon? It might not be persisting its configuration options properly on your system.

    Thanks!
