first- is it the same firewall across the board with wsa products? or does complete have any better of a firewall?

second- during install it asks for the windows firewall to be turned on i normally keep that off to use the firewall on the suite i am using. does the firewall in wsa rely on windows firewall i.e. is it like a controller for the windows firewall or is it a separate firewall by itself?

third- it appears to be controlling outbound only is this correct??

Yes to most please see here as this will explain more: https://detail.webrootanywhere.com/agenthelp.asp?n=Managing_the_Firewall or you can use another third party firewall if you like as I use Look'n'Stop myself with WSA-C.

Same FW across all WSA products.

It's not Win FW controller but a separate fw itself. Win FW protects inbound and outbound connections. WSA extends that protection by monitoring outbound connections. WSA does the same thing with any other FW in place of Win FW like Comodo FW or Online Armor FW.

Yes WSA only monitors outbound connections.

thank you, so besides the storage and "cleaner" what are the advantages of complete vs plus?? any difference in detection or protection? and is theremore info on the cleaner and what it does / doesnt do somewhere? i dont think i need the plus since i dont need the online backup myself.

No it's all the same protection except the features as you mentioned! ;) Have a look at the features for each product http://www.webroot.com/En_US/sites/land-holiday-2012.html

Actually it's the same download file for all but the product key that you paid for installs the features in this case you have WSA-ISP.

i would not be using the online backup stuff and the pc performance things to me (no offense here) are a waste. the only thing about it i might find useful is the windows update notices in case i forget to check which i usually dont lol.

is there any additional performance hit from anything in complete vs plus?? being i got those best buy versions im thinking about getting some other complete versions which i can get a really good deal on new sealed retail versions from a local store that has a bunch of unsold copies. i just couldnt find the "plus" version locally cheap so i went to amazon and kind of regret that.

edit: does the complete version detect tracking cookies with its history cleaner thing or is it kind of like what ccleaner does in cleaning out cookies and temp stuff etc??

I tested all versions and there is no performance difference between them 2 to 5mb of ram and I have Complete.

The System Cleaner does remove cookies and many other things as the online Help File has allot of info https://detail.webrootanywhere.com/agenthelp.asp?n=Running_a_system_cleanup

sorry i should have been more clear i was asking if it removed them during normal scans? like norton or others that detects and removes them. i just installed complete and have ZERO use for the analyzer as it said i need new ram (using ddr3??) and also said i need a faster cpu i have a t9900 on this system i dont think i need anything faster also there were some other things... and i would not use the backup stuff. so i guess the only thing that would benefit me is the cleaner but i use ccleaner normally which does really the same stuff it seems.

but you are correct i dont see anything else different. i was more or less hoping for maybe better / more layers of protection with the upgrade to complete.

No as cookies are harmless and pose no threat to the system.

okay so its really just a basic cleaner. thats what i was wondering if it had anything to do with the scanner or anything else. i guess it wouldnt hurt to have complete but i dont really need it.

It's up to the users personal preference that's why Webroot has 3 versions to choose from. ;)

im just annoyed at the whole best buy / amazon thing i got and i found a deal on the complete and am debating if i should grab that or not. i guess i cant return these i got from the amazon seller as they say they will work fine and will only accept them as a refund if they are not working and i can show proof of that.

Grrk. Sounds like people who sell unactivated gift cards. :( So much greed in the world these days. Even the malware out there is mostly greed-driven these days.

I agree and feel sorry that the money doesn't go to the people that work so hard to create such a great security product. :( Look at the Great offer going on now at Webroot 50% to 75% off. http://www.webroot.com/En_US/sites/land-holiday-2012.html
